Publisher's Summary

The chilling conclusion to the #1 bestseller The Magpies.

Twelve months ago, Jamie Knight walked straight into Lucy Newton’s trap. Both Jamie and his ex-wife Kirsty barely survived. Now, with the police investigation into Lucy’s disappearance going nowhere, Jamie teams up with a true crime podcaster to track down his nemesis.

But can Jamie persuade Kirsty to help? Can Kirsty forgive him for his past mistakes? And who, if anyone, will survive the final showdown? Featuring extracts from Lucy’s secret memoir, Last of the Magpies brings the trilogy to a shocking conclusion.

I couldn’t stop listening. What a great story line. I’ve listened to a few of this authors books. I’ve never been disappointed. I will pass this series onto my other audible friends

Wash, rinse, repeat. The writing was fine but same characters, same predictable plot

The problem here is that the real story was over and done since the first book.

I maaaaaybe could have allowed for the second book coming off the hype of the first (though the plot of book two was completely predictable).

But it really just felt like the author thought to squeeze another sale by hitting the same notes. He barely changed the characters.

It was not worth it. Writing was fine. But I barely could pay attention as it felt like wash, rinse, repeat.

This could have been included in book two (if that).

Perfect Conclusion

I highly recommend you read the first two books of The Magpie series before reading this one.

After Lucy the "Dark Angel" managed to escape capture at the end of the last book, Jaime finds himself questioning how he can continue in a world where she is on the loose and free to hurt people again. Teaming up with a true crime podcaster, he is determined to find her and stop her wicked ways. Can they find Lucy or will she elude capture yet again?

This book brings in all the beloved characters from the series and introduces a couple of new ones. Edwards ties all the loose ends from the first two books together in this exciting conclusion. In addition, I love that there are excerpts from Lucy's manuscript that give us a peek into her past that was previously a mystery. This is a fast read, and is exciting from start to finish. I highly recommend this book, and the entire series. You will not be disappointed!

Great conclusion

Wow, what a conclusion to the Magpies series. In Last of the Magpies, some extracts from Lucy’s secret memoir are revealed and Jamie attempts to get his ex-wife Kirsty to help him track down the whereabouts of Lucy. Will they team up and find her? Will Jamie and Kirsty go their separate ways or is there hope for them? Find out in Last of the Magpies. Loved this series.

Treat yourself to a really good read!

This book series is one of the best psychological thrillers I have ever read! Well written story, believable characters and really scary that while a work of fiction, it was so believable, it could have truly been story of fact. The characters were well developed including their own flaws. Excellent read!
