Publisher's Summary

Only a bad nanny knows what it’s like to kiss the boss.

CEO millionaire Max Fletcher is a single dad in desperate need of a nanny. Cozy Barlow is in the middle of her self-appointed “gap year” and doing everything she can to detach from her past. But when her sister begs her to interview for the nanny position of a high-maintenance client, she doesn’t have a good enough reason to say no. And when Max locks eyes on the 20-something in a tie-dye sweat suit who pitches the idea of daydreaming all summer—he prepares to give this bad nanny the boot.

One problem: Max’s little girl thinks this plus-sized in body and spirit nanny might be her new bestie, so she hires her on the spot.

Now Max is stuck with this bizarre woman who hates everything he represents—corporate greed, money, status, power. But one stormy night when the power goes out, he discovers Cozy doesn’t hate him. In fact, he’s the leading role in her fantasies.

Fantasies he would very much like to make a reality.

Almost passed it up

When I saw Erin Mallon was the narrator I almost passed on purchasing this book. I am so glad I did not. Not only was the book awesome but Erin did not draw out her words as she has done in all other books I have heard her narrate. She has such a beautiful voice however the enunciation often makes me cringe. Not this time, she was great in this book. Love love loved the story!

Worth the Listen...

I enjoyed this book and will listen to it again in future. It is amusing with emotionally insightful aspects. It just had one more insecure moment with the heroine than necessary. Other than that it was true to character and heartwarming. Perfect audio book to cozy up with and relax. The narration was great.

You're not doing the plus size community a favour

I appreciate the main character being plus size, but for someone who's supposed to love her body, there have been way too many references nitpicking it and how it's not the ideal body that should be wanted by a man. It's been so constant throughout the book, that it takes away from the story and I had to stop listening to let out my frustration.

Grabbed my attention and made me laugh out loud a number of times in the first chapter and continued to entertain throughout.

Another Boulder Hit!

Loved, loved, loved Max and Cozy’s story! It was funny, steamy, romantic, & sweet. Throw in the amazing cast of Boulder favourites ie. Kate and we have the perfect merger of sassy word play and life advise from our fav spicy author.

Max is the perfect book boyfriend fantasy, and the kinks that were brought into play? So hot. Amy you have a hit!

Now a serious question. Please tell me we’re getting a spin-off of Max’s sexy mountain men brothers. Because I need it!

Not ready to leave Boulder, so I think I’ll pack my bags and move there.

Fantastic story! 💜

Amy Daws does it again. I loved everything about this story. It’s funny, charming and sexy.
Their chemistry is on fire. The “plus size” main female character is fresh and unique but the story doesn’t focus on her size, and that’s how it should be. Everly is freaking adorable. The ex and her new partner was a great addition to this story. There was the perfect amount of drama combined with this romance.
The narration was absolutely brilliant. Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton’s performances were outstanding. Their emotions and voice acting really brought this story to life. Well done everyone!
This book is a complete standalone with an HEA but also has reoccurring characters from the Wait With Me Series.
I highly recommend this book!

First I want to say THANK YOU for not making me wait for an audiobook and releasing it the same day as the other editions, Second THANK YOU for casting Erin Mallon as Cozy and Teddy Hamilton as Max and last THANK YOU for giving us a Single Dad & a Plus Size Women!! These are only some of the reasons why I loved this book.

Max started off a bit grumpy but from the very beginning I knew I would love him because his daughter always came first. I not only loved how much he loved his daughters, I also loved how he treated Cozy's body insecurities. He got mad that she didn't see herself the way he did and made sure to tell her why she was perfect the way she was. Cozy was different in the beginning, she came into this book like an airhead with a very whimsical way about her but then as we get to know her we find that she gets nervous and that's when she gets a little bit crazy LOL. She is actually a very intelligent, caring and creative person. I loved that she loved Everly from the beginning. The author included a lot of scenes with the daughter Everly which is a huge plus for me since a lot Romance books tend to forget the kids in the story. This book has a few very funny scenes that had me laughing out loud but it also had some serious topics like unhealthy work environments, stress health, divorce and LGBTQ parenting. That reminds me, I need to mention how much I LOVE a book that has a couple who are divorced and can still remember that they are adults that once were in love and make sure their child sees that they can make their new dynamic work. <3 Perfection!!!

The last thing I have to say is I will be ok if I never hear the word Zaddy again HAHA.

Worth a Credit

Overall, pretty great read but not my favorite from this author. I love a “curvy” heroine but I’m so tired of the fact every book about a plus-sized woman focuses SO MUCH on her size. We get it. She’s on the “bigger” side and doesn’t necessarily fit the “societal standard of beauty” but she’s still gorgeous. Agreed and moving on. Excellent narration, interesting plot, and enjoyable, delightful ending. I do think it’s worth a credit.

I am so bummed I didn't absolutely love this book like the others in the series. I waited very impatiently for this story and was so excited to get my hands on it. Even though this wasn't my favorite story, I still enjoyed many moments and overall rooted for Max and Cozy to get their happily ever after.

A couple of things bothered me. First off, there were a couple things that were repeated quite a bit that took me out of the moment in the story and I don't think they needed to be used so often. It might just be a me thing but I cringed when the word "Zaddy" was said, and it was a lot. Also, everything seemed to "unlock a kink." Both of these things got old fast to me.

My favorite part of this story was Everly, Max's daughter. She was the cutest, smartest, and sweetest, kid and she stole the show for me. I also loved getting updates from the other characters in this series. The epilogue was just what I needed and wanted!

I really loved the way the narrators brought these two to life! They both did a fabulous job.

Steamy fun

A sexy single dad who is a genuinely nice guy, but also kind of a possessive caveman? Yeah, that works for me! This hero steals the show with his combination of sweet and alpha/businessman and caveman, but I also loved the vibrant heroine who has unexpected sides of her own. The two make for a very compelling combination, and the boss/nanny/forbidden element really worked as well. It's steamy fun, with a fling to more romance that slowly shifts into something deeper, and there's never a dull moment along the way. The chemistry between our couple sizzled, and there are many, many fan-worthy moments. It's the banter and playfulness that really stood out for me though; Max and Cozy have an instant spark between them, they just have very different attitudes. I enjoyed the boss/nanny dynamic, which felt different than the norm because of her age (26). Cozy is no young or timid heroine falling for the boss, she's a strong and independent woman who knows exactly what she's getting into... at least until she gets in over her head.

The story follows Max, a successful businessman who is excited to have his daughter full-time for the summer. He's a great dad who takes the time to truly care about his daughter, but he does need a nanny to help carry the load. Unfortunately, they've been unable to find the perfect fit, and the hot mess of a woman who interviews last doesn't seem to fit the bill either. But when Max's daughter chooses Cassandra/Cozy, he finds himself hiring the seemingly carefree woman. Cozy isn't the typical nanny, and her philosophy seems to be no planning, no worries. When she moves into the guest house, it immediately changes the dynamic, and it's not long before Max finds himself inexplicably drawn to her. Messing around with his nanny is a terrible idea, but something about Cozy brings out Max's baser instincts.

It's a steamy book with plenty of humor, and the tone remains light even when it tackles some difficult subjects. I kinda loved that we got these first impressions of Max and Cozy, and there was so much more swimming beneath the surface to discover throughout. Sure, we've gotten to see bits and pieces of Max throughout the series (absolutely not required reading), but I always pictured him as more of a serious businessman type. He's a lot more fun here, and certainly more jealous/possessive than anyone would've guessed. Max and Cozy are awesome together, and it was really refreshing to see a guy loving and embracing his girl's full figure. If anything, Cozy's body just makes Max go into overdrive, lol. The story is not focused on her weight, which was great too. It was also not focused on Max's backstory either, though I can certainly see how it shaped him into the man he is today. There were a couple of minor things that bugged me about that, but nothing major holding me back from enjoying the story. I'm usually not the biggest fan of "let's bang out the attraction" storylines, but there was a lot more going on here, so it kept me hooked. This was another very solid installment in the series, though it's also easy to read as a standalone - and here's hoping it's the start of a spinoff series.

Audio note: The audio was excellent! It definitely enhanced the story, and may have even pulled this from a strong 4 to a 5-star read for me. It's dual narration, with Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon performing throughout. I'm a big fan of both, so their voices added a level of comfort and relaxation to the story... and a little extra heat during the steamy scenes! Which, yeah, I wouldn't recommend this one for the office. It gets steamy and/or suggestive early on, and stays that way. The tone is perfect for audio though, and I really enjoyed the audio experience. This one is longer than some of the others in the series (11+ hours), so you might have trouble finishing in a single day, but I eagerly picked the book back up after every break - and that's always a good sign.

A little too millennial cute for me

The kid parts were actually pretty decent, even for someone like me that doesn’t care for parent based romances. Instead, it was the almost rabid quirkiness, as if the author is determined to go viral with the OMG most unique rom-com details ever! Johnson shaped charcuterie boards, belaboring the term “zaddy,” and having her live in a tiny house with a bed only accessible by a ladder just felt forced. As a fan of the Wait with Me series, this one was only okay, perhaps because it was so long (4 hrs longer than book 1), this just didn’t sizzle for me. There were huge segments of talking about work-life balance, being supportive of LGBTQ diversity, and curvy gal body positivity… any one of which would have been fine, but all of the life lessons crammed into this book interrupted the comedy and the chemistry. Still a “pretty good” three star listen, even if I sped up once I realized it took four hours to get to the first kiss.

Definitely not first on my list

Overall: By the middle of the book, I genuinely thought the two protagonists are better off not together, which imo doesn’t bode well for the story.

Like:
- story was easy to follow
- I’m not the biggest fan of having children characters in steamy books, but this was quite well done and I really liked the kid.
- The narrators! Loved them
Dislike:
- a little tired of the mediocre female catches the eye of millionaire bachelor trope (do we need to keep hearing about how unconfident she is?)
- Steamy scenes aren’t that … steamy imo. Almost felt rushed and the flashbacks to the scenes seem unnecessary if the original scenes were good enough, but here we are
- Not everything sexual is a “kink” - and not the biggest fan of the repetition of “zaddy”

SPOILER WARNING: I don’t understand why other characters pushes Cozy to get back to work (her mother especially) when she basically almost died because of it. And the idea that NO ONE from her workplace visited her in the hospital? Really? (Even if their “jobs were threaten”) The amount of suspension of disbelieve is a little much.

Cute

I haven’t listened to a good smutty book in a while. The ones I’ve attempted have been trash. This was a breath of fresh air. Very cute story, with cute characters, and the perfect balance of smut and plot.

I loooove Erin Mallon. She’s got such a nice voice and her male voice is pretty hot. Teddy Hamilton has a very sexy voice too, but I felt like he just sounded angry for 85% of the book. Even when the characters weren’t supposed to. He also did a great job of delivering some of the cheesier dialogue in a way that still sounded hot, so kudos.

I did not like how the author used the same language to describe sex for both MCs. That reeeally took me out of it because there’s no way a man and woman use the same words to describe sex acts. It felt unnatural.

Also, someone mentioned the over use of “zaddy” and “kinks” in another review and I agree, it got obnoxious. Not sure if I would have felt that way if I hadn’t read that review first though. AND all the baby talk at the end and how everyone had to be pregnant and have kids. Like you can’t have a HEA without a kid? That’s lame.

But I liked the book. It was very funny. And I couldn’t wait to finish it….in a good way! I recommend.

No, No, No!!!

It can’t be the last!! This book is way beyond excellent! It doesn’t just have all the feels, you FEEL all the feels. You are so immersed in the story, it can not end. You just want to live in their world. Amy’s writing is outstanding. She takes a simple trope (rich guy falls for the nanny) and transforms it into something amazing. Her characters are real and their depth is…..I have no words. I love seeing characters from previous books in this series, this series is one of my all time favorites.
Teddy and Erin definitely did justice to Amy’s characters, an excellent choice for narrators.💖💖💖💖💖💖
