Publisher's Summary

The Arizona Vengeance is hockey’s hottest new team. But hockey’s hottest goalie is learning that even the best players sometimes need an assist.

“You don’t have to like sports to love these books!” (New York Times best-selling author Jill Shalvis)

Everything is clicking for the Vengeance. We may be new, but we’re well on our way to winning the championship, and I’m having the time of my life headlining the sports media as the hottest goalie - hell, player - ever. I, for one, am going to live up to my name...because I am Legend Bay.

Dragging my ass home from the gym, I’m blinded by some gaudy, glowing holiday lights. As usual, my hot-as-hell neighbor Pepper Nantais has gone way over the top. But just as I’m about to tell her off, something else catches my eye.... Seems like Santa left me a present and not one I was expecting.

As life takes an unexpected turn, I realize that there’s much more to Pepper than meets the eye. Sure, she’s gorgeous. And exasperating. And her taste in decorating may be a bit...unique.

But beneath her carefree demeanor is a fierce determination and a heart of gold. And before I know it I’ve fallen for her. Hard....

Pepper is exactly the woman I never knew I needed.

Advance praise for Legend

May I have my Soul back?

Pepper Nantais, smart, humorous, beautiful….a thorn in her neighbor’s side. Never one to disappoint, she annoys him with her outrageous and annoying lawn decorations. The very definition of flamboyant! Amongst all of the chaos is an underlying attraction that will soon come to light.

Legend Bay, Star goalie for the Arizona Vengeance and has a dislike for his neighbor who grates on his nerves. He comes home one night to find an unexpected “package” on his porch. The only thing he can think to do is run next door and get Pepper. She is ready to have their latest tete a tete, but, stops in her tracks when she sees the look on his face. Stunned and shaken, he has no idea that getting Pepper involved is both good and bad.

The Good- I...Am...Speechless! Several books have brought out different emotions in me, but, Sawyer grabbed my soul and snatched that thing right out. This is going in my bank of Favorites!

The Bad- The way Charlie was left on the porch is inexcusable.

The Ugly- The Baby Mama Drama, was ugly. She was so far gone off the ledge and delusional. What she did was horrific.

I don’t know where to begin with this, but, I was just in awe of this latest release by Sawyer Bennett. Legend and Pepper are a magnetic force so in sync and unbreakable. You could feel Pepper’s spirit of calm. She was level headed and it helped balance Legend’s crazy emotions. She is comforting, nourishing, and bold. She was a welcomed change to the typical damsel in most stories. I know this book is about a Legend, but, Pepper is my Hero in this read. Legend was thrust into a roll that he was not ready for. His need to know everything and be there for Charlie was so touching and admirable. Legend and Pepper are pure passion with souls that sought after each other. Mesmerizing and tantalizing in their heat driven love making, that left nothing to the imagination. This story is unforgiving when it grabs you from the beginning. Holding onto you as if it needs you to read the next words or it will not rest. It left me awestruck, needy, tearful, emotional, and vulnerable. This proves beyond a reasonable doubt why Sawyer Bennett is my favorite Author. Just when I thought I couldn’t love her work even more, she writes Legend and elongates my already stretched to the hilt emotions….Easily an EBR Must Read! 5 Stars

Interesting story and great narration

This third story includes an unexpected baby, the attraction with the neighbor blossoming to more, and major drama with a very sick baby mama. Tacker’s story also moves along and the owner Dominick seems to be very interesting.

Best part of this series

I loved this story of Legend Bay the star goalie and his neighbor Pepper. I love these too because they are so different but what a better story than a baby left on the doorstop. To see how Legend deals with a baby and having to rely on pepper. This is my favorite of this series. Joe Arden and Andi Arendt kept you interested in this story.

Legend is a great addition to the series!

I am absolutely LOVING Sawyer Bennett's Arizona Vengeance series, and, three books in, it is now definitely one of my favorite hockey romance series!

I'm so happy I finally got to Legend's book. I listened to the audiobook, and I love Andi Arndt as Pepper! I thought she captured Pepper's voice well. Joe Arden as Legend was fantastic too! The audiobook was definitely well-casted, and both narrator's voice added to the story.

We saw in the last book that Legend, the Arizona Vengeance's goalie, was highly annoyed with his new neighbor Pepper, children's book author and illustrator and lover of pink plastic flamingos and other crazy lawn ornaments, which exasperate Legend to no end. But, when Legend finds an abandoned baby on his doorstep, Pepper was there to help him out.

Legend was this more straight and narrow guy while Pepper was a more carefree chick, which caused them to clash at first, but their relationship quickly took a turn to the hot and steamy side and their chemistry leaps off the page. All the while Legend was having to figure out how to take care of his baby girl and dealing with the baby's mother--a one-time hook-up.

My favorite part of Legend, apart from the romance, was how Legend quickly took to being a dad and how he embraced his new role fully. It's so adorable how much he cared for his baby girl--I swooned!

My only issue was how the Legend's baby mama was completely villainized in such an over-the-top way, especially because she was suffering from something very serious. I just felt sorry for her character, and I wish she'd been treated more sensitively.

Overall, I think Legend was a great addition to the series! While it wasn't my favorite (Erik is still my #1 fave!), I very much enjoyed it. I can't wait to read Dax's book next! Also, I highly recommend this series be read via audiobook--each book has a different narrator for both the hero and heroine and they definitely add to the story. You really feel for the characters more because it's like they're speaking to you via audio and telling you their story--basically, the audiobooks are fantastic and I highly recommend!

4 stars

I really liked this one. Secret/abandon baby, newly single dad trope. I'm glad we're also seeing progression of the other cast members as their full stories are next on the list to be told. Even though the story was predictable, sometimes its good to come back to a storyline that I enjoy. Gah, I look forward to Dax's story next.

Joe and Andi did a great job narrating.

Wonderful Story & Narration🎧 Heartfelt & Moving!

Sawyer Bennett pens another amazing “Arizona Vengeance” novel and I loved every word of it. She has a wonderful writing style, creates storylines that are interesting, likable, easy to relate to and captivating from start to end. I also adore the characters she creates, they are complex and well developed, there is so much more to each one of the hot hockey players on the team and it is great finding out more about them. This is book is Legend’s story, he is a goalie for the team and an all around likable guy. He and his neighbor Pepper are at odds because of her flamboyant decor she places around her home, some she does just to taunt him. Pepper is an author who works from home, she likes to make her yard bright and cheery for inspirational purposes, add bonus is it bothers her grumpy neighbor, Legend. Just before Christmas Legend arrives home to find an unexpected package waiting for him, he is shocked and runs to Pepper’s house for assistance. I thought it was great how she helped him with everything, the two were great together and for each other. There is never a dull moment in this book, there is plenty of drama, angst, some action packed thrilling & suspenseful moments that brought me to the edge of my seat and a buildup to a wonderful romance. Sawyer Bennett, thank you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

Joe Arden and Andi Arndt are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They bring these characters to life, giving each their own unique voice and personality. They do a great job projecting the emotions of the characters and the drama of the story into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and always a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another wonderful listen🎧

Such an incredible storyline

I have enjoyed every book in this series so far but "Legend" is my favorite of the 3 books so far. This book fleshed out the characters so much and there's so much depth. Yes, this book was fun, flirty and sexy like the rest of the series but many of the characters became more 3 dimensional in this book.

The narration was spot on and gave the characters life and a voice so they could tell the story for themselves.

loved it

I've purchased all the Vengeance novels so far and this one might be my favorite. The other two books had some angst. But it had to do with the couples relationship. I won't give anything away but this one is different. And I loved it. Joe narrates the majority of the book. He does a great job. Andi too. I've already pre ordered the others.

Great Listen

Sawyer Bennett certainly know how to write a Hockey Series and just when you think you have read the best out pops another Hockey hottie you can dream about in this case it’s Legend Bay’s story.
We may have met Legend and Pepper briefly in the previous books but that doesn’t mean this book can’t be read as a stand-alone because this is the book that we really get to know the neighbours who love to hate each other......
As goalie for the Arizona Vengeance Legend knows what is expected of him and he knows what to expect of his teammates, he likes order in his life what he doesn’t like is the over the top neighbor who insists on putting pink flamingos in his front yard. Pepper is the complete opposite of Legend she is loud, colourful and she loves to tease her hot neighbor. These two may drive each other nuts but when it comes down to the nitty gritty it’s Pepper that Legend turns to when he finds a unusual package on his front doorstep.......
This book has all the feels you want in a great read, it has love, drama, some hearbreaking moments as well as some seriously hot scenes. When this author started her second hockey series I wondered where she would take us, could she better a series I already loved and swooned over, well I should never have doubted her because Legend has topped them all and it will certainly be in my top reads of 2019. I loved the characters and their witty banter, I loved the support and the friendships formed in this series and I’m telling you to one click this great read and great listen. Narrators did a great job
