Publisher's Summary

Blade McCormick is not a nice guy. He’s pure adrenaline and smells like smoke and leather - the kind of guy you look at and know he’s going to be a combination of nasty and irresistible. The moment I allowed myself to touch his hot skin and kiss his full lips, I. Was. Done.

Like currency, I’ve become part of a transaction. Blade took me to pay off a debt. I try to tell myself, Eve, you should hate him. He’s a bad guy. But then again, I’m not a good girl. Blade’s the president of the Disciples, the notorious motorcycle club. I should be frightened, yet somehow, he doesn’t scare me. If anything, I think I scare him.

First and last MC book

could not finish. was my first MC book, but the threatening to kill, and sell the person you care for is beyond my level of kink.
the female lead role was a struggle to listen too. her whisper voice was not for me.

TUT-TUTS, TEMPERS & TEASES AS A BADASS BIKER BENDS

This was a pretty good start to The Disciples MC series with a few negatives thrown in too. Blade/Jason is the handsome hardened sex-on-a-stick ex Navy SEAL badass President whose closed-off heart slowly gets penetrated by virgin Eve, the eighteen yr dirt-poor carny rat he callously takes possession of to cover her dead brother’s debt. Eve, well she becomes his petite blond angel.. but she’s a bit of a feisty handful too.. and she becomes his obsession and weakness as he battles his dangerous dark alpha biker lifestyle vs his raw animal feelings of ‘mark’, ‘claim’, ‘posses’ and ‘keep’. But Eve challenges and calms his beast.. she rewrites his preconceived views of what an obedient ‘old lady’ should put up with.. she makes a one-woman man from a manwhore.. and she gives him a beautiful bright future alongside his biker brotherhood. Eve had a plan I know, and it all worked out spectacularly well for them both in the end.. but she was a bit of a doormat during some heated stubborn and cruel tirades of his about who he was going to fk, how and where and that he’d never change and never stop so just deal with it. Yet stop he did.. however first, he struggled.. and shouted.. and squirmed.. and tried to get it on with OW to keep his ‘badass biker’ man card. My thoughts and ratings roller-coastered along with their tempestuous relationship.. weak female narration equals weak heroine and there were a couple of threads in the storyline that tapered down to ‘meh’ nothings (her hiding money and his club whore). The dual POV storyline had chemistry, biker behaviour and drama, heated sexy times and a good selection of secondary characters. Troy Duran’s narration was great and the perfect fit to bring the possessive alpha to life.. but sadly I didn’t love Devon Grace’s whispery narration which weakened the heroine - and the audiobook. WORTH A CREDIT? Yes because this badass Disciples President drew me in and he kept me there to watch his mixed-up moods, his alpha-possessive chest-banging and denials, his subtle transformation when character growth finally kicks in and his selfless act of the four letter word he refuses to say.. love. Will continue with the series but hope there’s a different female narrator.

Good story, but..

I cannot get in tune with the female narrator. Sounds like she is constantly whispering. Too drab sounding. Other than that, it's pretty good. Troy is a great male narrator.

A fast paced MC romance!

This was such an amazing start to the series.
Hearing the book in audio was such a transcendent experience.
Both the narrators Troy Duran and Devon Grace delivered an amazing audio delivery and an almost flawless narration.

I loved the faced paced storyline and the characters were relatable and well fleshed out.

I am definitely looking forward to listening to more in this series.

Blown Away!

This is the first book in a new MC series, and is the first time in years that I have enjoyed, liked and continued to read an MC series. The last memorable MC series I enjoyed as Joana Wyldes Reapers MC.

Blade is not an anti hero you like from the beginning. He has to grow on you. It took me a few chapters to tolerate him, and even more before I liked him. Eve is young, but not what she seems. Having been raised by a Carny father, she is old beyond her years and has a penchant for survival. The story unravels using graphic sex, violence, misogyny and foul language. All the elements you would expect in an MC novel. Well done Ms. Robbins!

Performance: This is the first time I have listened to both performers. Troy Duran, OMG is amazing. I cannot give this man enough accolades. I will make an effort to look for books narrated by him from now on! Devon Grace did have a whispery voice, but somehow it seemed to fit Eves character. I feel more strongly about that since I have now listened to all three available books in the series. She was perfect.

Overall, this book is a 5 star listen in my opinion, and worthy of my credit.

Blade & Eve

This is a “new to me” author. Intriguing storyline. And super steamy, which I love! My major complaint is that Blade/Jason is so hot and cold for the majority of the book. He wants her. He doesn’t want to want her. He’s going to “get some” from another girl. He can’t “get some” because he’s obsessed with Eve and only Eve. His verbal and emotional abuse towards her was hard to handle after a while (about 80% of the story). It was disturbing. And that’s coming from someone who enjoys dark romance, bully romance, and MC romance books with a passion. Just when I was ready to throw in the towel, the story took a turn. Maybe that’s how the author intended it? Maybe it was my mood?? I just wanted it to stop! Also, the female narrator has a nice voice but she does this whisper thing throughout the book even when it’s not warranted. It drove me up the wall and I had to listen to Eve’s POV at the highest possible speed (while still understanding her) to get through it. I want to savor my audiobook listens, not rush through just to get it over with. On a positive note, Troy Duran was perfect for the male voices. I also loved the ending. I am going to try the next book in the series as I’m curious to hear about the other characters and I’ve checked to make sure different female narrators read for the female roles. If more of the same issues occur in the next book, I will not continue with the last two books. 3 star story but it could have easily been 4 or 5 stars if the author had taken the story in a slightly different direction.

Bravo💕💞🍸

First let me say I love Troy Duran voice. I will damn near listen to anything he narrates.😍. The book is truly worth the credit and then some. I love the character Blade. He is strong, arrogant, and a true leader. Now Eve well I suppose she couldn't help herself. She had a hard upbringing as a Carnie. I loved the book and I will be listening to the series. Enjoy. 💞💕🍸🍹😍

Loved it!

This is the first book in a new series. I have not read/listened to many Motor Cycle Club book but I just may change my mind. The reason? Troy Duran’s awesome narration. He just has THE best voice for a biker! Five Stars across the board on this book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
