Publisher's Summary
Audie Award Nominee, Humor, 2013
For fans of Tina Fey and David Sedaris - Internet star Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, makes her literary debut.
Jenny Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives - the ones we'd like to pretend never happened - are in fact the ones that define us. In Let's Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson takes listeners on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor.
Chapters include: "Stanley the Magical, Talking Squirrel", "A Series of Angry Post-It Notes to My Husband", "My Vagina Is Fine. Thanks for Asking", and "And Then I Snuck a Dead Cuban Alligator on an Airplane".

weirdly relatable...
as someone with ADHD, Social Anxiety, G.A.D, and OCD personality traits, this book was a wild story with relatable moments and hilarity I cannot even describe. There's no way to explain this book to someone, trust me. I've tried!

Heartwarming and funny
I have more appreciation for the struggles many experience with mental illness and enjoyed laughing with the author, in spite of herself. I thoroughly enjoyed both of her books.

If vocal fry bothers you...
Skip this audio book. I think I read a review that mentioned this was similar to The Glass Castle - not even in the same league.

I don’t know why someone would want to invite this scattered mind into their lives!
I fought to get about halfway through before giving up. My GF walked away during the second chapter. We started listening to This Never Happened for book club. Of our 9 members, the verdict is split between 4 loving it, and 5 vehemently despising it. The penalty for not finishing a book is a bottle of wine, and it looks like there will be 5 bottles to share this upcoming meeting. To echo other reviews, it’s clearly “not my genre”… and, “it’s similar to The Glass Castle” but only in that you the reader suffer for the entire time it takes to read or listen to a book, so buckle in for a mental suffer-fest. Unlike TGC, the author’s suffering was mostly self inflicted and self perceived. I didn’t have the patience to find out if there is an attempt at a similar theme of transcendence at the end. I don’t know why someone would want to invite this scattered mind into their lives. Like any mediocre comedy there are moments of hilarity (1 in 20 sticks?) but IMO, these flickers of light are not worth the 8 hours of your life you’ll never get back. I wish I could get a refund of my Audible credit and 4 hours of my life.

Don't Pronounce the G
I read the 2nd book first and absolutely loved it. This was great too.
It did drive me crazy that Jenny pronounces the "g" when saying "ing" words - so I'm not that different than her. I know she will understand. ❤❤❤

Guaranteed to get you weird looks on transit.
If you are like me, you consume a lot of audio content while taking transit to and from work/play/stuff. This book made me not only laugh out loud but also snort laugh, titter, and one spit take.

Hilarious!
I love Jenny Lawson's laid back, long -tangent - styled humor! You feel the pains she goes through, and root for her, as well as laugh with her over the incredibly far fetched situations she seems to happen often. I love this!

hilarious
I love Jenny's frenetic way of telling a story. even if it isn't always chronological, it is always guaranteed to make you laugh. would absolutely recommend to anyone, unless they're offended by copious cursing and liberal use of the word vagina.
