Publisher's Summary
In the rugged Ozarks of beautiful Branson, Missouri, a woman struggles to save her marriage - and finds answers from an unexpected source....
Allison felt like she'd stepped into a fairy tale when she married widower Burke Caldwell. But after less than a year of marriage, he's become removed and distant. His friends see Allison as little more than a trophy wife; his only daughter regards her as the enemy. With everyone so devoted to the memory of Burke's first wife, Kate, how can Allison possibly compete?
Then a harrowing car crash leaves Burke badly injured. It becomes achingly clear the woman Burke wants by his side is the wife he lost....
No longer able to dismiss the power Kate still holds, Allison can't resist reading a trove of hidden letters from Kate to Burke. What she discovers sets her mind reeling.
The letters give Allison an enlightening window into her husband's heart. But will she have the courage to put aside her own fears and grab hold of a love as big and bold as the man she once dared to marry?

Predictable
I normally like this narrator but didn’t feel like he was the one for this book. The story was predictable. I’m glad it was part of the Romance Package and didn’t cost me any credits.

Mediocre
I thought the book was mediocre and predictable…
Reader should have been female since those were the main characters.

Good story, well written
Narrator was excellent. A bit long on the hospital with the round and round with the partner.

Predictable
This was a story with potential but I was disappointed with the underdeveloped parts. She begins pretty well and then fades.

Enjoyed it.
At first I thought it was going to drag. But quickly it became interesting and didn’t drag at all.
Good summer read.

Enjoyable
Janet Dailey does not disappoint. A thoroughly engrossing story without veering off into great descriptive scenes of sex, so predictable and repetitive in similar stories. It does not help the story line, only satisfies readers that enjoy that veering away from story content for their little thrills. This author knows how to tell a story!

Not my genre usually
I listened to this back when Audible had the Romance Club. I initially thought this would be good bedtime reading to help me sleep. I mean, this wasn’t a genre I generally liked and figured if I missed some because I passed out then no big deal. Well, the story captured me, and the narrator was surprisingly perfect for this novel (my humble opinion). Needless to say, I didn’t get much sleep because I became captivated. I find myself often thinking about this novel, and came back to give it a higher rating because of that. I’d listen to more from both the author and narrator.

Good Book
It took forever to get to anything interesting. That being said, the character development was amazing. I really felt like I knew them all by the end of the book. I love the strength, compassion, and humanity represented in this book.
