Leviathan: A Classic Journey!

This exhilarating re-imagining of the Jules Verne and Alexandre Dumas classics, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and The Count of Monte Cristo, will keep you glued to your head phones. It is a fast paced and entertaining story spanning 150 years and culminating with an Event team underground and underwater nuclear face-off. David Golemon has hit one out of the park! And Richard Poe does not miss a beat with his performance. I highly recommend this. Just one small word of caution: It helps if you have read at least one of the previous books in the series to know some of the characters’ back stories. I would recommend Event, the first in the Event Group Thriller Series. Enjoy.

Climate change and man made evils

Book reads like propaganda for spreading an agenda. If I had known that I wouldn’t have bought it. Trying to warn others before they make my mistake. If you’d rather not have your intellect belittled repeatedly - pass on this one.

The sea-monkey did it

The story was mea overall has forwshadowing to later EVENTS in the novel were plain and simple that wasn't to figure out out was going on 10 or 20 chs before it did. Do the twist on mermaid mythos was original so idid find the book meet with that tidepit. An so I can say wasn't the best but was a read to give a couple of hours to intresting series.

Entertaining

A good yarn, weaving in old stories with the present. One needs to overlook errors or oversights here and there, but once past these (Use of stature measurements in a European environment and a mismatch in counting the number of tubes vs missiles launched) it’s very engaging.

A perfect geod

With this author you never know what storyline is going to come at you. Being well into the series i went back to close out the series. The description didn't appeal that much to me. But, like that perviable box of chocolate it was delicious.
To critics all I can say is if you want a book based in fact you should stick with non fiction.

A Disappointment

'An indoctrination wrapped in a thriller', as Farbeaux might say.

As a thriller, this novel was fairly well-written but fell terribly short when it came to providing facts when discussing environment science.

David L. Golemon published this book in 2009 and has Alex, the acclaimed world's smartest person, proclaiming, 'The polar ice cap is melting above us. It is dying from a global phenomenon many politicians have said is only a cyclical happening. Global warming cannot be stopped, possibly not in our lifetime—that is not an opinion, but fact. The temperature in the past ten years has risen by six degrees.' Furthermore, she prognosticates, 'We are under the direct center of the North Pole. At the rate of the meltdown, in ten years there will be no ice at the top of the world'

It appears the author relied more on a demagogic politician's environmentally-bogus book for his 'facts' rather than the actual data produced by NASA, NOAA and GISS. In fact, between 1999-2009, earth's temperature had only risen 0.1deg.C or 0.18degF. Since the 10 years following the book, there are bunches of ice at the North Pole still; as far and further than the eye can see, in point of fact.

Richard Poe narration was very good, as has been the case in the other novel's in this series that I've listened to.

Another good one.

Henri Farbeaux makes this book worth reading. Coolest Frenchman Ever. Can't wait to see what is next.

Side note, wanted to flip out ever time they said dived instead of dove.

Silly

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Not sure who might like it, but it was a definite disappointment for me. Does not measure up to prior stories in this series.

Has Leviathan turned you off from other books in this genre?

No.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Narration was fine, but could not overcome the storyline.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Leviathan?

This may be harsh, but as an editor I would not have submitted this for publication.

Any additional comments?

This is probably others' cup of tea, Just not for me. Too far out.
