Publisher's Summary

Betty Dawsey knows that breaking things off with Thom Lange is for the best. He’s nice, but boring, and their relationship has lost its spark. But steady and predictable Thom, suddenly doesn’t seem so steady and predictable when their condo explodes and she’s kidnapped by a couple of crazies claiming that Thom isn’t who he says he is.

Thom is having a hellish week. Not only is he hunting a double agent, but his fiancé dumped him, and thanks to his undercover life, she’s been kidnapped.

Turns out Thom is Operative Thom and he’s got more than a few secrets to share with Betty if he’s going to keep her alive. With both their lives on the line, their lackluster connection is suddenly replaced by an intense one. But in his line of work, feelings aren’t wanted or desired. Because feelings can be a lethal distraction.

“Whoa! I went into this book cold, and the first chapter blew me away. I was NOT expecting that! So of course I had to keep flipping pages late into the night! It was a great ride.” (Sarina Bowen, USA Today best-selling author)

“If you’re in the mood for a fast paced, action-packed page-turner, look no further! Kylie Scott’s most thrilling romance to date....” (Natasha is a Book Junkie)

"Packed with adrenaline, suspense and red-hot chemistry, this is certainly one to be devoured in a single sitting." (Vilma Iris)

"This was one wild ride that will have you laughing out loud!" (MissPetiteBrunetteBookBlog)

“Forget about functioning as a responsible adult until you have finished the last chapter, you'll want to hide out and read what happens next with Betty and Thom...Lies gets 10 stars from me!” (A Book Lover’s Emporium Blog)

Another hit for Kylie Scott

I love Kylie's style of writing. She has strong female leads and sexy male leads. All her books have humor and just the right amount of snark. And Lies is no exception. Kylie branched out into a new storyline with Lies but did it with her usual humorous way. Thom and Betty played off each other well. Andi Arndt did her usual great job narrating. Well worth the credit.

Lies..Oh the Lies

I quite enjoyed this book. It was unlike any other Kylie book in all the good ways. It had the banter which we know and love from a Kylie book but it had so much more too. The chemistry the mystery and action. I really enjoyed the action and not knowing what was going to happen next. Thom is unlike any other character I have met as of yet and I loved him. He gives as good as he gets and it was a fun ride. I am sad I am done it. I want more. Usually, I have something to say that all Kylie’s books are narrated by Andi and it’s not that I don’t like Andi I do but it can get a little stale. But not with this book she really gave each character their own voice, and not one we have already heard before. Highly Recommend giving this book a listen.

A solid suspenseful romance.

While I’ve read suspenseful romances, this is my first involving a spy storyline and I quite enjoyed it. The ins and outs of trying to fool those you love and the realization of making the choice to love someone with this line of work. Thom is the boring fiancé of Betty. In one instance, their basic life changes. His other life exposed. All the while still professing his love for Betty and their tepid relationship evolving into passionate love at any cost. Andi is stellar in this. If you’re a fan of hers, this is an absolute treat.

The ending annoyed me

This book started so great and I was excited to listen. But, the last 30 or so minutes were ruined the while book IMO. 👎

Disappointed

This book is boring and the woman character is annoying SAD because I really like this author and mostly all her books. The whole whiny way in her character gets on your nerves after a while.

Fun and twisty!

Loved this Kylie Scott book, chalked full of fun, adventure and steaminess! Strong female heroine that was nuanced with good details.

I have no idea how to rate this

I have no idea how to rate this. On the one hand, it kept my attention and made me laugh a few times. On the other, the premise was so ridiculous and such a poorly done spy novel that I had to roll my eyes. That and the love story was nonsensical...or maybe just really poorly fleshed out. I wouldn’t recommend buying this or wasting a credit on it, but if you can remind yourself not to take it seriously in any way, have a few hours to listen while driving or whatever and have AE, go for it.
