In Dimensions, Dr. Jacques Vallee reexamines the historical record that led to the modern UFO phenomenon and to the belief in alien contact. He then tackles the enigma of abduction reports, which come from various times and various countries, as well as the psychic and spiritual components of the contact experience. In the last portion of the book, he notes the factors that inhibit research into the phenomenon - the triple coverup and political motivations - and concludes that the extraterrestrial theory is simply not strange enough to explain the facts.

Publisher's Summary
The psychic abilities of most humans are dampened by the clatter of our conscious minds. In this timely audiobook, Russell Targ shows listeners how to quiet this noise and see into the far reaches of time and space through remote viewing. He also illuminates the phenomena of intuitive medical diagnosis and distant healing in a groundbreaking synthesis of research and empirical data.
Drawing on a broad range of spiritual traditions, Targ demonstrates that these psychic abilities offer a path of self-inquiry and self-realization and have the power to expand each person's limited awareness into the consciousness shared by all beings. Targ explores the scientific and spiritual implications of remote viewing, as well as offering practical techniques and exercises to nurture this universally available but often untapped skill.

A great listen and an unbiased opinion.
I was fascinated by the brilliance and inner beauty of Russel’s daughter Elizabeth. I do not wish to speculate about the cause of her early passing, but, was is ESP in her studying was was to be her eventual cause of passing or was it her focus on the subject that lead to her obtaining the illness? The book teaches us that our thoughts can create physical reality. I do not wish to fear anything, but if this loving healer can pass away as she did, do we really have any real control? Is our destiny inevitable?

Not a guide
I'm well over an hour in and there is no such thing as a guide in this book. All he is doing is talking about love and finding God and showing high levels of cognitive dissonance. For instance, Targ defensively makes the point against science that old beliefs such as the world being flat do not stand up to the scientific rigor today and that we shouldn't hold onto the past, only to continue his point by stating in the next sentence that what he is teaching has been promoted for centuries in religious texts. Well which is it, Mr. Targ? Is a long standing belief a benefit or a burden?
I'm debating returning this as I don't believe reading the chapter names there will be anything in this.
I'm sold on remote viewing. I have been for over half my life, but I haven't experimented with it since I was in school and had some moderate, yet skeptical success using free online tutorials. Having the finances to support my reading into it now, I was hoping this book would be next level. It's not.

Small portion on ESP
while the book does talk about remote viewing and ESP, there isn't very much in the way of instruction, except for one chapter. The rest of the book seems to talk about Dzogchen Buddhism and other eastern religious practices. The stories are good, but again not very much to be gleaned from this book as far as instruction.

Excellent, more than I expected.
I read this because I was curious about remote viewing and Russell Targ delivered a great book. I would recommend it. The narrator was fine but I think Russell could have narrated it better himself.

An Enlightenment?
It seems Mr. Targ, later in his career has found some great paths to travel.
I enjoyed his perspective, being on the cutting edge of mind science is an enviable postion. One can only ponder the true things he has been a part of.

A masterpiece
This book lends scientific explanation to intuited feelings and experiences. I love Russell Targ’s work. In the chapter discussing ESP Russell cited Barbara Brennan, when he mentioned her book Hands of Light my heart flipped over in my chest. I ran to the book shelf where I had several books from my late grandmothers house. My grandmother was a pioneer thinker, and philosopher. I am now reading that book with a far more open mind. Thank you for your honest and open dialogue Russell!

I love the book!
After seeing the past comments… I thought I would elaborate.
If you watch ancient aliens then the narrator will not bother you at all! For those who do not watch the series, I can see how it can take some getting used to.
I do not feel like the performance adds or takes away from the book at all. Listen to the message. Definitely stay for the last two chapters of you feel like throwing in the towel.
This has helped me be more decisive in things that I thought I already knew. Thank you!

Great book, but the narrator sounds so strange. I had to speed the book up to make it listenable.
