Story
Often disguised as something that would help him, evil accompanies Christian on his journey to the Celestial City. As you walk with him, you'll begin to identify today's many religious pitfalls. These are presented by men such as Pliable, who turns back at the Slough of Despond; and Ignorance, who believes he's a true follower of Christ when he's really only trusting in himself.

Story
“Break Through the Language Barrier, Expand Your Understanding” The Amplified Bible is a Literal Equivalent translation that, by using synonyms and definitions, both explains and expands the meaning of words in the text. This unique system of translation allows the reader to more completely and clearly grasp the meaning as it was understood in the original Hebrew and Greek languages. For example, the Greek word pisteuo, which the vast majority of versions render as “believe.” That simple translation, however, hardly does justice to the many meanings contained in the Greek pisteuo: “to adhere to, cleave to; to trust to have faith in; to rely on, to depend on.”

Publisher's Summary
Verses you have read many times will impact you in a new way when you hear them read aloud.
Read in a single voice with subtle background music, the NIV Listener’s Audio Bible features Max McLean’s skillful, engaging, but never over-dramatized style reading the entire text of the Bible. This audio Bible will bring God’s word to life during your personal and family devotion times, group Bible study, or during your weekday commute. Listen to just 13 minutes a day and you’ll get through the entire Bible in a year!
Before you could tuck it under your arm, before you could bring it up on your phone - you did not read Scripture, you listened to it.
For centuries, the only way to access God’s word was to hear it read aloud in public gatherings. Today, we are blessed to own personal printed copies of the Bible, but there is a surprising benefit to hearing the Scriptures read aloud as it was for so many generations.
Features:
- Complete text of the accurate and clear New International Version (NIV)
- Narration by Max McLean, founder and artistic director for the Fellowship of Performing Arts in New York City
"These are the most engaging recordings of the Bible I have ever heard." (Hank Hanegraaff, the Bible Answer Man, president, Christian Research Institute)
"He sounds as you might expect the writers of the text to sound if they were speaking instead of writing.... McLean reads the Bible like it is the Word of God." (Donald Whitney, professor of biblical spirituality, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary)

Which is what bible book?
I expected this Audio bible to be more easy to find books, chapters, and verses. But, it comes in multiple parts, each with a title that does not show what part of the Bible it's from. Each part just has Audio Bible Part 1, part 2,etc. Returning this one.

can't be beat, but....
max maclean brings the bible to life like no one else can.
my only issue is specifically with audible, that the parts are unlabeled and if you searching for the gospel of Matthew for example, you have to guess which of the 20 parts it resides in. desperately needs proper chapters and sectioning.

the speaker did a really good job had a hard time
I found that God has a big big ego more than anybody else because he created everything hard to deal with free will that he gave us. I'm going battle.you listen to people nowadays they do the exact same thing. never satisfied forget easily. I have been listening to a lot of history books from different times of different centuries. one thing I've noticed. he will send a group of thugs that will get rid of another set of group of thugs and nobody ever actually notices it. overall I found a very enlightening I've never actually listened to the Bible from page to page word for word.lot of sentences I don't know if anybody ever notices that surprised me. like in numbers at the very most of the almost the very end you actually find out he does body hop if you listen to it. interesting. wow that's my crazy ass review of the Bible.😇

Needs to be broken down into Books of Bible.
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes
What about Max McLean’s performance did you like?
Yes...A plus
Any additional comments?
Extremely hard to follow. Needs to be broken down into books in Bible. I had to listen and then write on a piece of paper which books were contained in which part! Very time consuming.

AUdio Bible
this would be a five star rating if only the listener could locate the books of the Bible and find some way to determine what is on each illustrated disk. It will take much effort and time to download and note (on paper somewhere) the contents of the 37+ parts of this Bible. The reader is excellent.

The Bible Is Great...Navigating Not So Much.
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The Bible is broken down into 20 segments, with multiple chapters in each segment. There are no bookmarks for OT and NT or books of the Bible. This would be so much easier to use if the books and chapters were broken down like the Bible to easily navigate. I was disappointed that this wasn't organized any better.

The individual books of the Bible are not labelled
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I can't find the book of the Bible I am looking for without listening to excerpts of about ten individual books. The books of the Bible are not individually labelled and the covers are identical. Can't you fix this problem?
Would you listen to another book narrated by Max McLean?
His tone of voice is not in tune with the passage sometimes. He makes Jesus sound irritable and impatient in situations where that tone of voice is not warranted.
Any additional comments?
I listen to this in the car.

The Living Bible comes Alive as it was meant to Be
The Living Bible comes Alive as it was meant to Be!
Listening allows one to be absorbed mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and and even physically! I become so involved that I weep, shudder, and rejoice with our history feeling as if it were occurring right now... maybe it is!
Such is the reality of God's Word enabled through robust narration with excellent and appropriate inflections and tone. Max McLean's voice impacts the listener through to the quick.
Organization - Lack of Usable Contents (rate this a 2): Frustration abounds and use for studying is limited to almost zero by a lack of ALL reference to actual Books and Chapters. For unknown reasons, producers fail to provide any usable Contents based on the actual Bible. All that exists in the audiobook are numbered chapters which do not correlate to the Bible Books or Chapters. Do to this awful oversight, there is no method to return to particular passages for listening again or study. The ability to add Bookmarks does little to mitigate this poor arrangement. One would have to spend hours to bookmark enough to use for reference... very sad.
Suggestion: PLEASE provide an update that includes a Table of Contents that enables one to choose passages to return to for re-listening or study. This will increase the value of the audiobook many-fold. At the very least, please provide a .pdf cross-reference that may be used to find passages, Books, and Chapters.

Waste of time.
There is no option to lo are specific books and it downloads in multiple sections so you can not even read it in any typical order. Upset that I even downloaded it. How difficult is it going to be to remove all these separate downloads.
