Publisher's Summary

During her morning exercise, yoga instructor Cam Saunders finds herself rescuing a young woman who has walked into the sea, seemingly intent on taking her own life. When the woman in question turns out to be a famous actress, Cam promises to keep her secret safe.

Six months later, America’s sweetheart Ella Temperley is working hard to get her life back on track, grieving the loss of her twin sister and fighting a deep depression. Despite her fame, she feels alone in the world and keeps thinking of the woman she owes her life to.

After Ella shows up in Cam’s life again, the two become closer than they ever imagined possible. But what happens when friendship turns into attraction? Living is a slow-burn coming-out romance about loss, love, and life.

great story. you won't be disappointed

You will probably read many good reviews and see many 5 and 4 star ratings for this romance. Please believe them all. If you like a really moving & gripping story, populated by relateable, loveable (and some hateable🙄) characters, you will love this.
I listened to one Lise Gold book before this one, and I really liked it. But this is just in another league. If you like writers like Kris Bryant and even Georgia Beers and Melissa Braden, please give this a try. It is so well written, ,sweet and hot and I found that I didn't want to miss a word. Never listened to this narrator before, but I am now going to look out for anything else she does. What a find 😎

Wow

That was a beautiful story. I really needed a story like this in my life. Happy, sexy, serious, silly, sad. Enough happy, sexy, and silly to make dealing with the serious and sad worth it and leave me smiling and giggling more often than not. TJ Richards did an amazing job as always. I could easily differentiate who was speaking at any given time, her voice is pleasant to listen to, and her pacing is on point.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story

Lise Gold has written a wonderful story that grabbed my attention from the first word and TJ Richards has done a fabulous job of bringing the characters to life. The way Lise brings in the subjects of depression, suicide, mental health and shows that with therapy someone can come back from the brink of suicide and learn to live again and be happy.

I could easily distinguish between characters and that is a big thing for me. If I'm constantly trying to figure out who is suppose to be talking\thinking then it's tough to follow the story. Well done TJ Richards.

Just Eh.

The story line was decent, the characters believable for LA. The second half of the book was just so-so. the plot was predictable. The narrator had a little Canadian accent that made it hard to believe with the setting in Los Angeles.

Loved it

I think this was the first book that I’ve listened to that was narrated by Tj, and I’ve got to say that I absolutely loved it. She was amazing at the change of her voice and I knew who was who at all times. The book itself was amazing, I loved that the relationship went from friends to lovers and that we could listen to how they figured out when they knew that they had feelings for each other. The subject matter was deep but it was written with such tenderness that it didn’t take it too far but kept it in a way that it didn’t bring down the rest of the book. I loved the way Lise made Ella grow before she got into the relationship with cam.

Good Book

A little different as it strayed from the romance Formula a bit. But we don’t need the whole break up and get back together part because the characters faced enough of they’re own issues. Good sweet book as love conquers all

Engaging beginning

Started out strong with an interesting story and likable main characters. Here and there it lost me though and had me rolling my eyes at the over the top sweetness. However, kudos to the author who impressively handled the topics of depression and suicide with so much respect. Despite the heavy subject matters, the book kept things light for the most part.

So many excellent reviews...

And the one review that panned "Living" is the one I resonate with the most. It is an ok listen/read but it didn't pull me in. The premise is interesting and the kismet kept me listening but overall it wasn't enough. In fact, with three hours to go I think I'm done. Those who loved it REALLY loved it; take those reviews into consideration. For me, the characters didn't feel like 20 somethings in this day and age...maybe back in the late 80s (but not from the Valley!) Even the dialog felt dated. Had they been in their 40s it might have felt more congruent. I liked the premise, I loved the therapist and some of the references to spirituality and love but in the end it didn't pull together for me. And the narration was more of a distraction than something that made the story flow better.

Read this book.

I usually do not write book reviews, I only rate them. I’ve search for a GOOD lesbian fiction. I’m really glad I found this book! The performance was great, the characters were very distinct! Their development was excellent and I became vested in their stories. There were some moments that were classic lesbian fiction, but overall it was just a super good read! I’m picky and am very glad I picked this book.
