Publisher's Summary

The forest brought them together. What's in it could tear them apart.

Maggie Sullivan has returned to Wolfe Creek, determined to find out why her best friend vanished one fog-shrouded night a year ago. But it quickly becomes clear that if the residents of the secluded mountain town know what happened, they aren't talking.

Sheriff's deputy Koda Wolfe reluctantly agrees to help Maggie, even as he tries to convince her to leave town for her own good. Soon he's compelled to protect her from herself, his family's ancient curse, and a killer who could strike again.

The nights heat up in more ways than one as Maggie and Koda delve deeper into the haunting disappearance. The eerie woods come alive with secrets bound to tear them apart, while someone is watching their every move.

surprising

not the same old take on werewolves, a refreshing take on an often predictable theme.

This was sweet & not what expe

Ok so compared to the darker romance novels that led to this one, Lone Wolfe was sweet.

It is a mystery/ suspense novel first and romance second.

It definitely took some turns I wasn't expecting and it was a gentle, easy storyline. I would recommend this one as a great in between novel for those that do heavier novels. It is a great young adult novel / mid teen novel (for those mature readers as the last few chapters get into the romance part).

I will continue with the series as my go-to in between novels when I need a clean break and it has a spot in my brain's library now.

I like how the characters develop and there is a nice flow to the storyline and the relationships. A very natural development.

I gave this 5 stars for completely different reasons then I give other novels. This got 5 because it does cover different readers and is, like I said, a nice read.

Will I re-read? Probably not
Is it my favourite? Far from it
But it is captivating in a sweet way.

Tigger warning: there are a few chapters (11-12 maybe 13) where they discuss a home invasion and attack on a female character. No graphic details are provided, just the lead up and aftermath in hospital. Even with this I find it very gentle and nothing that had alarm bells going off as warnings for readers BUT just a heads up it does help with the overall storyline.

Exceeded my expectations!

Such a good story, a mystery, a sweet little love story, some drama, excellent character development, a very understated werewolf legend, a good twist at the end….Great narrator! I thought this would be another cheesy wolf shifter story but it was much more than that!!

Not to bad

This was a free option with my audiable and I am between credits so I tend to listen to the free ones until my credits come around.

The author is good, this is the first time I listened to anything by her and she did well. I was interested and followed along easily, There was an interesting twist that I wasnt expecting.

And the charaters coming together was good. Nicely done.

absolutely horrible

the story seems like it's interesting but I was so bored with everything. I love romance novels but this one kept prolonging every thing and the narrator was so bored with her tone and did not make changes to voice so it was hard to figure out who was talking and when the main character was talking or thinking. I couldn't stand to hear it anymore and stopped listening to it by the 2hr mark of it ending.
