Publisher's Summary
In the world of the Cartel, there are many pitfalls and family curses. In the city of Miami, the good die young and the bad live forever. The first family of Miami, the Diamonds, are back and more ruthless than ever. When the family has to deal with the sins of the father, karma comes back and rests on the shoulders of Carter “CJ” Jones II. The life his father never wanted for him calls him, and the allure of family tradition sucks him in so deep that he falls victim to the game. This story shows the second coming of a king and solidifies the cartel family tree in the roots of the streets forever.
Ride with a new regime as Carter II and his cousin Mo attempt to carry the legacy of their fathers on their shoulders. Will the city respect them? Or have the ghosts of the past been erased by a new wave of hustlers? Miami was forever changed when Carter and Miamor came to town. Can the Cartel ever regain their strength or was their fall from power too devastating to repair?
Ashley & JaQuavis dive into their franchise series once more and give their fans a taste of classic urban storytelling.

Good, but expected better after the long wait!!
I agree with the other reviews that this was the weakest book, but it was still good. Also, please bring back Cary Hite!! It would’ve made the whole experience much better!! Steven is ok for other books, but Cary was made for this series!! Iikane would be great as well!!

Narrator
Storyline was overshadowed by the poor narration. There were obvious errors with the reading but instead of editing those errors, the line was just repeated. I could have ignored one error but there were several errors throughout the reading.

Love the Narrator
Read the series and this is the first time listening to the books on audible. I was really impressed with the narrator. I looked at some of the other reviews, and I think it's cool that he's on Broadway. Nice to see black authors getting black talent that has experience with acting and performing. Anyway, I'll definitely keep an eye out for the next in the series or figure out the next book the narrator is working on :)

Very disappointed
I have read all of the Diamond Cartel books and this by far was the worst. Each storyline felt incomplete and some characters purpose left you hanging at the end. It was as if they authors had to rush to put something out to appease the publishers.
I can’t say enough how disappointed I am with Ashley & JaQuavis. I expected more based on previous books I’ve read by them collectively and individually. I feel like asking for a refund because this was a waste of my credit. ☹️

The story line was good and I liked the book but the narrator sucked. He used the wrong accent for the characters.
