Publisher's Summary

Re-released in a second edition with new content.

Laura Niles walked out the door and never looked back. As she left Washington, DC, her career was in ruins and her love life decimated. Her desperate flight eventually led her to Bliss, Colorado, where she managed to find a new home and a little peace. That will have to be enough because Laura cannot imagine finding happiness without the men she left behind.

For five years, Rafe Kincaid and Cameron Briggs have searched for the only woman they ever loved. When she disappeared, everything became crystal clear. For one night, everything had been perfect and instead of embracing what they had found, they let it all slip away. They had let worries about their FBI careers and what others might think destroy the most precious gift they had ever been given. Now they have finally tracked her down, and they want answers.

Laura is shocked when her former loves show up in her new home. When the full force of the FBI arrives with them, Laura knows that the quirky little town is in for a rough ride. The killer that ruined her life has been watching and waiting for the opportunity to strike again. For Rafe, Cam, and Laura it’s time for second chances - to stop a monster, and to reclaim everything they lost.

No trust...

If someone says they love you they need to show it. These "hero's" were crap at that. they told her over and over. They wanted to prove the attraction all they time too. They wanted to blame her for getting the hell out after being betrayed by everyone she thought she cared about. Not one of those guys thought about what she went through. It had to be explained. Sure I will give my life for you, but I won't believe you know what you are talking about professionally. They love her so much, but treat her like she is not good enough. They don't even stick around after the fact to talk to her. Why? Cause this was started by lust that they wouldn't control. So they want her, but are screwed up about it. They love her, but don't trust her judgement. They want her, but fear losing their jobs. So she gets the boot, gets kidnapped, attacked, almost dies, but saves herself and they decide she will be fine and they will take care of her. Seriously? Who the hell do they think they are? No dick is that good! The excuse of "I made a mistake" is never good enough in my book. You lost me when you threw her under the bus and she had to save herself. Then act like you got it all under control. I would never feel safe. I would have been gone. I would have relied on myself as the only one to trust. Even at the end I still have mixed feelings about the relationship. They put money and time into finding her and that makes them worthy of her? Nope! No trust there. No warmth. Lack of real compassion. Acted the part. Couldn't feel enough emotion for a real relationship. Just two men who fell in lust with a hot chick and didn't want to let her go. Just my thoughts and feelings. The performance was great though. Story is what bothed me most.

4.5

Hopefully, you’ve read my last review; I didn’t skip a book and am happy about it.

Next up is Laura an FBI agent who goes to Bliss after being assaulted by a serial killer and profiling that it was a person who’s in law enforcement.
First, and thank goodness, there were no ‘real’ problems with getting the years apart correct except from 1. The King of Bliss (read the book, love the Dom in all the books more than the book dedicated to him 😞) staid “no one comes to my town without a real background check”. She had been there for five years so the background check would’ve been done under Ry, not Nate (the new Sheriff). Now it’s probably understood that it was Ry but Nate was mentioned prior so... Have to say that Nate saying he read Laura’s file the morning feds arrived helps.

Nevertheless, and shaking my head again, we have a problem throughout the book. Not with year counting (like the last book) but with language. Let me explain. All American Boy meets Miami born Cuban American
FBI Agents and have a great time and fall in love with Laura.
Maybe it’s the audiobook version but Hispanics and Spanish speakers don’t say Bella (like Twighlight), they say bella (pronounced bā-yah or bay-jah depending the region they’re from. So if All American learns how to say it, he’ll learn with his Gringo accent and I’ve heard a few. It still doesn’t sound like bella). So throughout the listening process it was grating.but not enough to fast forward or wish the best for the Agents. Now, it would’ve been easier on the ears if he had been a NY Italian American.
Story was funny, scary, and quite entertaining and the storyline kept me focused on the main characters a lot more than a potential love affair between the supporting actors like the last book. Did I say the book was funny? Had me busting a seam and laughing out loud (but you need to read earlier books to get it. Truly Hilarious!
Sensuality and hot scenes are STILL hot, hot, 🔥!
Oh, I would’ve given a shout out to Wolfe at the party for playing the fake fiancé. READ THIS BOOK!
I can’t wait for Holly, the Russian, and the Doc

This one doesn’t celebrate the woman

This story went over the line of alpha males. Rafael and Cam don’t listen to Laura at all, don’t respect her free will, and although she likes it, the sex is too forceful. The entire conversation among the males where a woman is compared to a horse that needs breaking is such unanswered bull that I almost stopped listening. Blaming a woman who had been betrayed and then tortured for days for leaving was truly unbelievable, especially from an officer who is in a serial killer unit. And if ever a strong heroine landed in Bliss, I don’t know of an ex-FBI agent who has been in such trials, but that strength is never shown here. I don’t know if the editor didn’t do a good job or what, but this had a very different flavor from her other books in this series. I primarily listened to the end to see if those men would have a change of heart (they don’t really) and give a review. The performance suffers from the same lack of appropriate emotion and mediocre production as the rest of the books.

Weak FMC, Didn’t Like

The ending is the best part of the book. Disliked the FMC and the MCs were selfish and didn’t take the wants and needs of the FMC into consideration. She was nothing more then a damsel in distress and a f*ck toy. They were idiots. The serial killer’s identity was not a mystery. This book showed little to no respect to the FMC. She’s a freaking profiler as their chauvinism was really the main character. Really unlike Lexi Blake.

Second Chance Romance; Great Narration!

The more time I spend in Bliss, the more I enjoy the characters. They are funny, quirky, provide a number of LOL moments. Above all they are protective, friendly, loving, and abundantly loyal to one another.

I really enjoy this series. Although Cam, Laura, and Rafe's story dealt with some fairly intense situations, there were still a number of lighthearted moments.

The culprit was obvious but not obvious. When the serial killer was finally exposed, I could confidently say that I knew it was one of them, lol.

The narration was well done. It allowed me to completely immerse myself in the story. Luckily, I didn't have to work, but managed to get all my other chores completed while I listened.

Based on the trio's HEA, I plan to move on to the next book in the series.

Loved it! Glad I didn’t let one bad review deter me!

One person said they took too long to come together and that the men were alpha jerks.. I totally disagree! It didn’t take too long.. it’s reality that it’s hard for people to see their mistakes and completely change from everything they know .. quickly. I think everyone grew and learned and learned what love truly is .. what a beautiful story of forgiveness and love and wow the sex was good too! And the town!!! Bliss is my home! I love them all and I can’t wait for the next book!

I am loving Bliss

I am loving this town of Bliss. Sure they have the highest murder rate in the state, but you can't beat the quirky town's resident's and their dedication to each other.

Laura ran away from her life in the FBI and the serial killer she escaped from 5 years ago and landed in Bliss for a new start. Rafe and Cam have been trying to find Laura for 5 years and they finally received information on where she is, but unfortunately, so has the serial killer. When they find her, will they be able to keep her safe and keep her with them forever.

I loved this story. I can't lie, but I am so glad that there was no real "violence" when Laura finally comes face to face with the Marquis de Sade killer..I was worried as the story moved forward, that we'd be subjected to more torture before she was saved, but thankfully, Lexi went easy on us.

Triads in Bliss are nothing..so afe and Cam finally found a place where they can love their woman openly and honestly and Laura has become one of the town's most beloved folk..they will ensure that she is protected.

The story was good..the back and forth about aliens, the wedding of Jennifer and Stephan, the "free the boobs" movement by Rachel, and the connection between the russian, the doc, and Holly keeps you engaged and ready for the next installment.
