Publisher's Summary

Walk the path of love with one of the warmest, most beloved spiritual leaders of our time and learn how to put faith into action.

As the descendant of slaves and the son of a civil rights activist, Bishop Michael Curry’s life illustrates massive changes in our times. Much of the world met Bishop Curry when he delivered his sermon on the redemptive power of love at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle. Here, he expands on his message of hope in an inspirational road map for living the way of love, illuminated with moving lessons from his own life. Through the prism of his faith, ancestry, and personal journey, Love Is the Way shows us how America came this far and, more important, how to go a whole lot further.

The way of love is essential for addressing the seemingly insurmountable challenges facing the world today: poverty, racism, selfishness, deep ideological divisions, competing claims to speak for God. This audiobook will lead listeners to discover the gifts they need in order to live the way of love: deep reservoirs of hope and resilience, simple wisdom, the discipline of nonviolence, and unshakable regard for human dignity.

What the critics say

“Bishop Curry proclaims and lives the way of love that has the power to transform broken systems and imperfect people. This book is a gift for our time, as is my dear brother. Listen to him." (Bishop William J. Barber, II, co-chair of the Poor People's Campaign; author of We Are Called to Be a Movement)

"The author’s gentle storytelling and emphasis on the supremacy of the power of love persuades and convicts, making evident why he has become one of the world’s most celebrated and sought-after religious leaders. A powerful meditation on social justice and religion that will engage a variety of readers." (Library Journal)

LOVE

I really enjoyed this book. Bishop Curry helped me confirm that above all else IS love. My upbringing was, and yes I say was, in the Methodist Church. I have strayed from the "building" but not the lessons I learned in those times. I plan to share this book with my children so as to help them realize and continue to be good people. Thank you Bishop Curry.

All you need is love

What a beautiful book, written with so much love and read by Bishop Curry with so much heart. It was a balm for my heart. Or to paraphrase Bishop Curry, I communed with his soul, and mine is forever changed.
For those souls weary from these troubling times we live in, listen. Listen with your heart. Bishop Curry wrote this book with his.

Theee is no other way...

Love is way more than a warm-fuzzy 4-letter word. It is a powerful and transformative tool. Its opposite is not hate, but disengagement..."the banality of evil," as Hannah Arendt said, the evil of doing nothing. Curry calls EVERYONE to live the way of love. The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. So why not try something new for a change...and let's see what happens!
