Publisher's Summary
The self-published phenomenon - fully revised and expanded
I almost didn’t publish Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends on It. Here I was, a CEO who’d fallen apart after his company failed, writing a book about how loving himself saved him. I thought I’d be a laughingstock and my career would be finished.
But I stepped through the fears and shared my truth with the world. The book went viral. Amazing people all over bought copies for friends and family. For some, this book saved their lives. For others, it was the first time they ever loved themselves.
Many readers and listeners reached out and asked questions. This taught me that, to create lasting impact, I had to go deeper. So, seven years later, here it is. All the questions I received, resolved. My intention is that by the time you finish this new edition, not only will you be committed to loving yourself, you’ll know exactly how to do it. And, most importantly, how to make it last.

Classic Louise Hay and thats good.
This book teaches the affirmations I love myself and life loves me. Classic Louise Hay. He speaks of Cheryl Richardson (one of my sheroes) but doesn't mention Louise Hay. He teaches mirror work but doesn't mention Louise. Great story of overcoming a breakup. I am glad her teachings are being introduced to a wider audience, and hopefully this book is appealing to many men who often miss out in self-help teaching. A great read especially the first half.

Beautiful story. Profound and practical wisdom.
Part memoir, part personal development. A succinct guide to loving yourself with a practical step-by-step process that the author does himself. His voice is amazing. Will listen to this again and again. ❤️❤️

Such a great book!
There is so much good in this book! It was recommended to me from a program I’m in and I’m so glad I took the coaches suggestion and listened to this book. I’ve already noticed big differences and it hasn’t even been a week yet. Listen to Kamal! You won’t regret it.

Terrible waste of time and money
Horribly overpriced book. Basic and anecdotal at best. Very boring with only a few worthwhile insights that can be gained from anywhere. Narration is slow and boring.

medium to cold
I always love when the author reads his/her own book but his reading was really kind of flat - he just sounded really inauthentic. He gave it a good try to EMPHASIZE words and say them louder or longer but it still didn't sound like it came from the guy who felt and read it. It sounded so fake and forced. Honestly, I am surprised to find this work a best-seller that everyone thinks is amazing. Really? Talking to yourself in the mirror, this is new? And he prefaced it with "people are gonna think I'm really crazy when I tell them to do this ...: look at yourself in a mirror and tell yourself you love yourself. New? Groundbreaking? Affirmationing-yourself to death? I am guessing a lot more of this had to do with his entrepreneurialship,. I don't doubt his heartbreak and depression were real and I guess if it got him out of it, great. I don't know we flock to someone who has recovered or even had groundbreaking enlightenment experiences so we can read it and have it happen to us when a person's entire life led up to that moment and it can't possible be captured in a book ore experienced by anyone who reads it! I was left pretty unmoved. I really don't understand how AMAZING everyone thinks this is. Americans are so prone to hype and hero-worship.

Doctor recommends these practices
I’m an ER doctor and anti-aging student. If everyone does these practices I’ll be out of work! Heartwarming and fresh, these practices are only for those who want to live a full and vital life. Delivered with love from personal experience of the author. It takes guts to bring this gift to the world. Elin Ritchie MD

“Audible hopes you’ve enjoyed this program “
Indeed. I’ve listened to it twice so far. I started doing the breaths as soon as I heard you describe them. It was like realizing I had been holding my breath my whole life. I haven’t started the rest of the practice yet but I did forgive myself today when I wouldn’t have yesterday. ..thank you.

Hits close to home
His story of heartbreak hits close to home. I have been going through a similar situation. I realized I had a pattern of jumping into relationships so someone would love me because I didn’t love myself enough. I made a decision to love myself in November. I wasn’t sure how and I read what I could find, but nothing resonated like this book did. In simplicity lies power. The rituals Kamal shared are easy but life changing. These are rituals that can be built into my day and really help rewire my brain. I know I will listen to this again and again. I still love my ex dearly, but I love myself more. I’m goi all in and giving myself the attention I deserve.

One of the most important messages we need to learn
This book holds a very special place in my heart, and I’ve gifted it dozens of times to people who needed the message.
I had read and re-read, and more importantly did the practices in the first edition, and I’ve found that the new practices add so much to them.
I did them originally, and they were hard for me. I did them again now, and they were like saying hello to a dear friend. It was a...sweet experience. I can truly say I love myself now, and the original book started this journey.
Self-love is the necessary foundation to experiencing JOY in our lives.
And Kamal, you’ve helped so many learn to love themselves again—including me.
Thank you is inadequate, but thank you.

Content = Wonderful; Voice = Monotone and boring
Only because the content and story of Kamal is so good could I continue with this audiobook. I would strongly encourage the purchase of the book rather than listen to him. He should have had a professional voice artist record this.

Look at the mirror and say: "I love myself"
I have listened over to 400 audiobooks, and this one was one of my biggest disappointments ever. This is more of a personal journal published about a difficult breakup and how he managed to overcome the breakup by looking at the mirror and saying "I love myself"
I'd rather recommend Steve McNutt for real depth about self-Healing and self-love.

Don’t expect more meaning than in the title. He is repeating the same line „I love myself“ endlessly with a deadpan voice. It’s the most useless book I have ever bought. Save your time and money.

I'm obviously not the target audience.
Basically loving yourself by hypnosis. Not my preferred prognosis.
