Bad narration

Mitford is delightful. But can some one please explain why a narrator would feel the need to whisper an audible book? She keeps this whispering tone all through, with some exceptions where she speaks normally, so you constantly have to adjust the audio level, and/or have to listen very hard to try to catch her words… Ruins the book and the listening experience.
