loved every word of this book! after waiting forever for more story to this world it finally has come, And Wesson's tale is every bit as good as i hoped. most of my love for this book is indeed just the love for the series as is but if you were to read this on its own without knowledge of the main series it may be a bit confusing. regardless I truly love this book and will defiantly be re listening multiple times. i was smiling like an idiot at the end and haven't felt this great in a while. Huge props to Nick Podehl as well for being such an amazing narrator and truly making this world come alive! I strive to listen to every book he has narrated now! Super excited for the next book in the mage of no renown series and book 5 of kings dark tidings!!!

As always, Nick Podehl delivers a great performance. It's a solid prequel about one of the more interesting characters in the series. Happy to revisit these characters and the world that Kel Kade has created.

I was so happy to stumble upon a prequel/backstory for the kings dark tidings series. Same great storytelling and narrated by Nick Podehl.
A this point I guess I'll just wait until the next kings dark tidings book. All that being said, undeniably a good listen.

It was a sweet surprise when I spotted a new book by Kel Kade the magnificent and narrated by incredible Nick Podhl was available on Audible. This unexpected journey was exactly what was missing in my search of amazing fantasy stories. I loved this book so much I didn't want it to end.

Wesson's rather touching back story outlining his understanding of magical power. The epilogue was a very sweet touch I was hoping for!
