Publisher's Summary

Evie Black and her demon imp partner, Cass, are two of the most fearsome supernatural bounty hunters on the West Coast. But when Evie’s beloved grandmother dies, her world shatters. After finding the bottom of a bottle of tequila, Evie breaks the one rule she knows better than to ignore: Never hook up with a werewolf. Especially when he’s the local alpha who, oh by the way, happens to be her gran’s sworn enemy. Yeah, complicated doesn’t even begin to cover what happens next.

This is a full-length adult urban fantasy novel. Please be advised there is adult sexual content and language. You know how alpha werewolves get.

like it, but not love it

I really did like this book. I was super worried that there would be too much MA content, but after the frist chapter it calmed down. Narrator was great, story was good, well paced. Not binge worthy but easy to finish.

Fun to listen to, but easy to pause.

It was a fun story. Can't say I'd listen to the next installment. Just a bit too predictable.

Most Interesting World Concept C-

Most Interesting World Concept I read in a while. Brave and Loyal band of friends Evie and her imp partner gather around them. It could be me...but the sex and profanity seemed a little top heavy. it could have been done a more southern tipsy then stripper tawdry. That may of had me routing for the character sooner. #uniqueworldsetting #Shifters #UrbanFantasy

Ehh....don’t listen to this

So the idea was a decent one. The issue is the story. Half of the time she talks about the wolf she is in love with but denies, another good chunk is sex scenes, the little sliver left is the story. The author does t develop a plot not really write a story but more of a sex fantasy book. Sounds like a teenager who is sexually stimulated but unable to do anything about it wrote the book. If you don’t believe me give it a listen...

The reader did a good job though.

Almost a 5.

A fun listen. A somewhat different and interesting take on magic and supernatural creatures. There's a kitsune in the Wearing the Cape series who is really cool, but a love interest to the heroine. Here the heroine finds out she is herself a kitsune. Not quite a 5 because I have mixed feelings about the femporn bits, but I am definitely getting the sequel. The cliffhanger caused me a cry of anguish.

Disappointing

Decent storyline and character development with that being said eve is the only one getting a climax out of this book. No climax no real conclusion, the book simply ended.

Boring and flat

Nothing special, a boring story without a spark. There is no heat, no drama, no significant character development, it’s all superficial and forgettable. As I read the reviews of other books written by Leia Stone, I find that they are all the same, and I will never read a book written by this author again.

Terrible reader!

The story was entertaining and kept me wanting to find out what came next, but the reader almost caused me to trash this. There were no tonal inflexions had a period at the end of every breath. Just terrible!

Great Concept... less remarkable execution

I really enjoyed the concept and plot of this one. However, the writing just didn't do it for me...
I loved Leia Stone's Wolf girl series. I also liked Vampire Society. I think maybe the two authors didn't gel so much with Supernatural Bounty Hunter. I couldn't really connect with the characters. The relationship between the MCs felt forced.

Biggest criticism though: Steamy scenes were a bit on the cringy side... for one, their was a noticable lack of chemistry which is weird because I liked the steam in Wolf Girl. Other reason is... well, some of the descriptions were just strange and unnecessarily drawn out and I found myself growing concerned for the poor girl, thinking maybe she should be seeing a doctor. Is she having a stroke or an orgasm, like why are her lips going numb?! I had to skip foreward a few times. But... I understand that sometimes in book 1 there's more emphasis on world building and not so much fleshing out characters so I'm willing to give the next one a shot

Too much too fast

I like the characters. I like their dialog. BUT there are some things that developed too fast for the sake of narrative. At least it was too fast for my taste. But over all a fun book to read.
