Publisher's Summary

Ilona Andrews invites you to experience the first novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series featuring the intriguing fantasy world of mercenary Kate Daniels…

When the magic is up, rogue mages cast their spells and monsters appear, while guns refuse to fire and cars fail to start. But then technology returns, and the magic recedes as unpredictably as it arose, leaving all kinds of paranormal problems in its wake.

Kate Daniels is a down-on-her-luck mercenary who makes her living cleaning up these magical problems. But when Kate’s guardian is murdered, her quest for justice draws her into a power struggle between two strong factions within Atlanta’s magic circles.

The Masters of the Dead, necromancers who can control vampires, and the Pack, a paramilitary clan of shapechangers, blame each other for a series of bizarre killings—and the death of Kate’s guardian may be part of the same mystery. Pressured by both sides to find the killer, Kate realizes she’s way out of her league—but she wouldn’t have it any other way...

Amazing!!

This is the best series I have ever read, and I have read many many books. It is the only series I can re-read multiple times, and cannot wait for more books set in the world, or get more of Kate and Curran’s stories. When I found out that there is a dramatized version to be produced, I was ecstatic and this audiobook did not disappoint. The cast has been well chosen, , the added sound effects in the scenes have been very well done, and I cannot wait to listen to the dramatized versions of the rest of the books in this series. I am super excited for them. I definitely recommend this audiobook and the series to everyone!

Love the book, not sure about the Audio quality

I love Kate's character voice, and am getting used to Curran's voice, though it sounds older than I would have expected, Mahon's character voice is amazing.

Dubbing on the Kate and Corwin interview is a bit off - this scene was originally a sampler provided to IA fans (the BDH) and originally sounded like they had Curran's voice as Corwin's. They obviously changed the voice actors, but the dubbing is very poorly done in this scene. The actors are constantly talking over each other (starts Part 3, @ approx 23 min)
Doolittle is great in this as well however, by the end of it he doesn't sound like he's from Georgia but from Jamaica.
Love the story and glad they got such a great voice for Kate since so much of the story is in her voice.
I love this platform for the stories!
