Kyra is the youngest Markswoman in the Order of Kali, a highly trained sisterhood of elite warriors armed with telepathic blades. Inconsistent Volume

Narrator has a lovely voice but I was constantly adjusting the volume, different characters had piercing/grating voices and on the rare occasion something 'exciting' was happening, the volume changed. I wound up listening on 1.75-2x speed because she spoke so slowly and stopped listening with 3 hours left. I just didn't care about anything that was happening. The book itself was excruciatingly slow paced, and the writing was just okay - characterization was shallow and stereotypical. I suppose a younger reader might enjoy it more.
