Story
Griffin Quinn was my childhood pen pal, the British boy who couldn’t have been more different from me. Over the years, through hundreds of letters, we became best friends, sharing our deepest, darkest secrets and forming a connection I never thought could break. Until one day it did. Then, out of the blue, a new letter arrived. A scathing one - one with eight years of pent-up anger. I had no choice but to finally come clean as to why I stopped writing. Griffin forgave me, and somehow we were able to rekindle our childhood connection.

Maxon Chambers has a way of stealing all the attention. All my affection, and all my dreams. What I needed to remember was he’d stolen my good judgment and my virginity, too. Story
The first time you meet someone, you make eye contact. You smile, say hello. Should be simple, if you're anyone but me. The first time I met Dylan Reed, I found myself making eye contact with a different part of his body. You see, I'm very good at being shy, not to mention extremely well-versed in rambling nonsense and, unfortunately, rather highly skilled at making a fool of myself in front of a guy I'm attracted to. At the time, I knew nothing about him and thought none of what I said would matter since I'd never speak to him again. Turns out, I was very wrong.

Story
It was the summer of my life. I’d met the guy of my dreams. Unfortunately, he was the son of my uppity employer - and very much off-limits. But Gavin was a rebel. He knew his mother would disown him if she found out about us; in his eyes, we just had to be careful. He never treated me as his mother did - like hired help. Instead, Gavin put me on a pedestal and loved me harder than I’d ever been loved in my life.

Story
We met in a trapped elevator. Emmett was on his way to work, sophisticated and handsome in his tailored suit and tie. I was on my way to the sperm bank. Awkward, right? At 35, my life hadn't taken the path I thought it would and I was tired of waiting - I wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own hands to make it happen. After our ill-fated elevator encounter, Emmett insisted on taking me to dinner - he also insisted on something else - that I ditch my plan involving a turkey baster and let him do the job. He would be my baby daddy.

Story
Everyone says I’m a bad girl. They’re only partly right - I don’t let fear rule me, and I certainly don’t care what people think. But I draw the line at sleeping with the enemy. As the daughter of Briar’s head hockey coach, I’d be vilified if I hooked up with a player from a rival team. And that’s who Jake Connelly is. Harvard’s star forward is arrogant, annoying, and too attractive for his own good. But fate is cruel - I require his help to secure a much-coveted internship, and the sexy jerk isn’t making it easy for me.

Twenty-six-year-old Gaby Barreto might be a lot of things (loyal, sarcastic, one of the guys, and a pain in the butt, depending on which family member you ask), but dumb isn't one of them. When her twin brother invites her to go on tour as his band's merch girl, she isn't exactly screaming at the top of her lungs with joy. But with no job opportunities pounding on her door, an ex-boyfriend she would still like to castrate, and no end in sight to moving out of her parents' house in Dallas, it would be dumb to say no to the chance of a lifetime.

I first met him when he was 14 at a movie premiere of all places. A movie based on his parent's life. He was stoic, strong, suspicious, and secretive. I was only 10, but I felt something for him. A strange kind of heartbreak that made me want to hug and heal him. I was the daughter of the actor hired to play his father. We shared similarities. I recognized parts of him because they were parts of me. But no matter how many times we met. No matter how many times I tried. He stayed true to his vow to never fall.

It’s true. I’m not what most people would call “pretty” and, well, high school was rough. Fast forward ten years and life is good, until a bunch of jerks think it’s hilarious to put the “butterface” (AKA me) on a wedding Kiss Cam with the hottest guy ever - and that old humiliation hits hard. I recognize him immediately. The hottest cop in Waterbury and totally out of my league. But then he kisses me. And we totally forget the room, the crowd, everything. Then he tells everyone we’ve been dating for months.

Publisher's Summary
Jack and I, we did everything backward. The day he lured me into his office - which was also the first day we met - he proposed. You'd think a guy who looked like him - a bit cold maybe, but still striking and very unattainable - would only ask the love of his life to marry him, right? You'd think he must be madly in love.

THIS WAS SOOOO DAMN GOOD
In the romance genre there are so many ‘fake’ relationship books out there.. however it doesn’t stop me from buying them, happily eating them up and love, love loving the good ones. And I’ve got to say that I think this weighty sweet slow-burn is absolutely THE BEST of the bunch because it’s got hours and hours of yummy feels as Jack and Rose both enter their fake marriage for very different reasons. Two total opposites.. Rose was fun, talkative, friendly, open and kind.. Jack was closed-up, dark, unfriendly and was definitely hiding something. The pace of this dual POV slow-climb relationship was absolutely perfect as the anticipation for fireworks grew and grew. The ‘secret’ grenade tantalizingly hovered in the background waiting to be detonated at the worst possible time bringing heartbreak in its wake. The chemistry sizzled and sparked as they grew closer and closer. The light humor was always there adding warmth. The character growth was subtle and solid as they learned to navigate character flaws, a medical crisis, a new business and their blossoming relationship. And the passion, romance and heat was well-placed, not rushed and beautiful. The narrators were the perfect choice to bring the story and the characters to life and they definitely made this, IMO, a flawless audiobook.
Worth a credit? Well that’s the third absolute best thing about this listen along with Ella Maise’s well-crafted story and the choice of wonderful narrators.. this gem is absolutely free in the Audible Escape Package.. so grateful thanks and much love.

Your Heart Always Has A Home With Me
Marriage For One was such a wonderful surprise! I really enjoyed this marriage of convenience/enemies to lovers slow burn romance. I'm such a sucker for the prickly and gruff hero who is a giant softie on the inside, and Jack did not disappoint. He was so ornery and grumpy that it only amplified all the thoughtful and considerate things he did for Rose. I loved their banter and back and forth. Jack's "compliments" and Rose's reactions always made me laugh out loud. They balanced each other well, but also helped the other grow. Rose's playful and friendly personality contrasted so starkly with Jack's aloof and standoffish behavior, but I felt it really worked for the story.
Lance Greenfield and Stella Bloom did a wonderful job bringing Jack and Rose to life. I thought Stella Bloom's comedic timing was perfect for Rose's snarky comments and come backs. I did feel like Lance Greenfield was sometimes too intense (even during the tender moments), but otherwise he embodied grumpy Jack. The book was on the longer side and probably could have been a bit shorter, but I enjoyed Jack and Rose so much I didn't really mind. There was a scary event that tested and brought our couple closer towards the middle/end of the book that I was not expecting, and could be a potential trigger for some readers/listeners. One scene in particular (dealing with Rose's claustrophobia) brought tears to my eyes as I felt all the fear, helplessness, and pain of our characters. The big reveal made me a bit unsure of Jack and I felt like it resolved a little too easily for him. The resolution felt consistent with our character's personalities though and I appreciated that it wasn't drawn out. I would have loved to see a bit more into the future for our characters, but I was happy with how things wrapped up in the end. Overall, this was a wonderful slow burn romance!

Nice love story
Love the story. The narrators were great too. Highly recommend if you are a sucker for romance. I do have one dislike which is chapter 29, the last chapter. It seemed pointless to the story. All in all, it was good listening.

Great Book with Slow Burn
This book was steamy at times, had me giggle at others and had me tense throughout. I usually love these narrators but the men’s Voice by Ms. Bloom always had me second guessing the mood or intentions behind her “man”’voice. It sounded kind of monotone and may have undermines the authors words. I loved the slow burn and tension in the book, I would suggest it. There were comments about it having too much gratuitous Sex, but I have no idea how anyone would have gotten that idea. They just took a while. And when things heated up, it was for me, then end of the tension. It’s a personal like and dislike and not any reflection on the actual writing.

WOW!
I loved this story. Jack was, interesting in a brutish kind of way, and Rose was strong, smart, fun and lovable. It was a love story from beginning to end. My only criticism is about the last 2 chapters. While I love a steamy sex scene, Chapter 29 was a total waste of my time and not needed. The last chapter started out so great, then just abruptly ended. Seriously? Maybe a short epilogue would have helped. In any case, it’s still a good story, and I liked it a lot.

My favorite book
I wish this book was in a series form or at least considered to be a movie. Anyway, I relate with the marriage issues this couple had and the way the wife focused on the positive side of things. The resolution and mutual understanding in between characters was right in. I actually felt inspired on doing different things in my own marriage, such as having meetings with my husband and be honest with what I wish my marriage to be alongside with his own wishes.
Great read.
