À propos de cet audio

The instant #1 New York Times bestseller!

A Human hybrid and an Alpha Were claw against the bonds of fate in the highly anticipated companion novel to the New York Times bestselling Bride.

Serena Paris is orphaned, pack-less, and one of a kind. Coming forward as the first Human-Were hybrid was supposed to heal a centuries-long rift between species. Instead, it made her a target, prey to the ruthless political machinations between Weres, Vampyres, and Humans. With her enemies closing in on her, she has only one option left—if he’ll have her.

As Alpha of the Northwest pack, Koen Alexander commands obedience. His authority is so absolute, only a fool would threaten his mate. It doesn’t matter if Serena doesn’t reciprocate his feelings, nothing will stop him from keeping her safe.

But power-hungry Vampyres and Weres are not the only threats chasing Serena. Sooner or later, her past is bound to catch up with her—and Koen might be the only thing standing between her and total annihilation…

I loved the banter between the MMC and FMC. A part of wishes the story didn’t end.

Thoroughly enjoyed

Ive been WAITING for this and it was every bit as satisfying as I hoped!! On top of how amazing Ali Hazelwood’s writing is, the fact that they got Teddy Hamilton to be part of the performance is incredible since he’s my favourite voice actor. The performance was PERFECT, the writing was delicious, and I loved every second of it.

So good!!

I couldn’t put this one down! I enjoyed the pacing and something about this one vs the first one just flowed more naturally for me.

Better than the first one

Both voice actors did an amazing job which really brought the story to life. I’m so glad it was a duet narration for this book as the banter between the two is top tier and no other style could have brought it justice.

Amazing Duet Narration

For performance, the narrators were wonderful, and I love a duet book. The only drawback was the woman would say "he said the last word hushed" but the man wouldnt actually speak that way, little things like that.

As for the story, if you love omegaverse-type stories, you will love it. The "big reveal" came from a mile away but I don't think the author tried to make it that surprising? The foreshadowing was just very heavy.

The slow burn was so worth it. Enjoy 😉

So satisfying 4.5 stars

I absolutely LOVE this book! I loved the first book so much that I pre-ordered this one. Ali grabs ahold of you in the beginning of this book, as first, and doesn't let go. I was seriously disappointed when I had to stop listening and do life stuff! Narrators really made it great too. Ali please make more like these, I absolutely LOVE them!

Absolutely LOVE

I decided to listen to this on a 12 hour drive back home and it was the best decision. Amazing to listen to. I loved every part of it. I really enjoyed the progression of the romance, like always Ali knows how to build the tension. Also I knew it all along…with the male doctors misdiagnosing her. (Also what a real world problem literally all women and girls go through) can’t catch peace even as a hybrid. I actually like this one better than Bride. I have to say my absolute favourite part of the past two books is the relationship between Misery and Serena!!!!

5 stars for Ali Hazelwood again!

The narrators are so good (love Teddy)! The story was compelling, and ending was chef’s kiss!

I might love this one more than the first

I was hoping it would be more continuation with Misery but honestly, even with only the snippets, its fantastic. I love the brand of humor and I love the almost mind reading of the MMC

I wanted more Misery

I was really excited after the first book, Bride. The world-building from the first book felt novel and more interesting with the Werewolf-Vampire Romeo & Juliet love story set in a "Succession" world. It was unique in this genre and had scope, and I also loved how strong and powerful Misery was as the FMC. This book felt like a step back - it's much more the traditional werewolf-alpha, with the condescending MMC and the damsel-in-distress FMC. It took a long time to get into the story, and if I didn't actually purchase it, I might have not finished the novel.

Narration: Teddy Hamilton is one of my favourite narrators and is skilled in having different voices for different characters, so it was so strange to me that he had the same voice for all the adult male characters. It took me out of the story and was frankly lazy - it really stood out since the female narrator still made different voices for everyone. Equally annoying is how the female narrator decided to give Misery (the abandoned female character who was sacrificed by her family, grew up with humans and chose to live with humans where she tried to make herself appear as meek as possible so as to not stand out and be found out), the snootiest, most annoying, spoiled rich girl voice in the world. She clearly didn't read the first book and so made the wrong voice choice.

Disappointing Follow-Up to Bride
