Publisher's Summary

Mattimeo should have been named "trouble". Always getting into mischief and quick to lose his temper, the young mouse seems an unlikely candidate to take up the great sword once wielded by the legendary Martin to defend Redwall Abbey's peaceful way of life. But when Mattimeo and his friends are kidnapped by the fierce fox Slagar the Cruel, the bold little mouse learns that there is far more to becoming a true warrior than simply brandishing a sword.

Redwall sequel not to be missed!

If you love the original Redwall novel, you owe it to yourself to give this a listen. Brilliant novels rarely have worthy sequels, but this is one of them. The whole cast does a terrific job. Can't recommend these recordings highly enough.

brilliantly done!

I've read all the Redwall books before several times know them well and love them, this recording made me fall in love again! I was so enthralled I had to put pepper on my nails, I haven't chewed my nails in two decades! Haha, truly a wonderful journey.

Wonderful story. Amazing cast.

As usual, the full cast of this series is amazing. Wish more books would have different voices for characters and a narrator to read the story.

I enjoy other Mossflower tales

I found other books by the legendary Brian Jacques more enjoyable than Mattimeo. I found a lot of the main characters annoying and hard to sympathize with. Jacques still writes his inhabitants of the world of Mossflower Wood and Redwall Abbey in his wonderful style bringing animals of all walks of life together in companionable life, but I recommend other titles from his extensive Redwall works.

a loving sequel

Truely a noble addition to the redwall series, with everything lovable and more from the original. Mattimeo is one of few books that contain the cast of characters from the original character, and it introduces a amazing new cast while sending you though the unknown northern regions of the redwall world.
