Story
Eric Clapton is far more than a rock star. Like Dylan and McCartney, he is an icon and a living legend. He has sold tens of millions of records, played sell-out concerts all over the world, and been central to the significant musical developments of his era. His guitar playing has seen him hailed as "God". Now, for the first time, Eric tells the story of his personal and professional journeys in this pungent, witty, and painfully honest autobiography.

Rod Stewart was born the working class son of a Scottish plumber in north London. Despite some early close shaves with a number of diverse career paths ranging from gravedigging to professional soccer, it was music that truly captured his heart - and he never looked back. Rod’s is an incredible life, and here - thrillingly and for the first time - he tells the entire thing, leaving no knickers under the bed. A rollicking rock ’n’ roll adventure that is at times deeply moving, this is the remarkable journey of a guy with one hell of a voice - and one hell of a head of hair.

Hi! I’m Seth! I was asked to describe my audiobook, Yearbook for websites and shit like that, so...here it goes!!! Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it’s likely the former, which is a fancy “book” way of saying “the first one.”) I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs, and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like.

The relationship between Freddie Mercury and Jim Hutton evolved over several months in 1984 and 1985. Even when they first slept together, Hutton had no idea who Mercury was, and, when the star told him his name, it meant nothing to him. Hutton worked as a barber at the Savoy Hotel and retained his job and his lodgings in Sutton, Surrey, for two years after moving in with Mercury. He was never fully assimilated into Mercury's jet-setting lifestyle, but, from 1985 until Mercury's death in 1991, he was closer to him than anyone and knew all Mercury's closest friends.

Story
From his rapid-fire stand-up comedy riffs to his breakout role in Mork & Mindy and his Academy Award-winning performance in Good Will Hunting, Robin Williams was a singularly innovative and beloved entertainer. He often came across as a man possessed, holding forth on culture and politics while mixing in personal revelations - all with mercurial, tongue-twisting intensity as he inhabited and shed one character after another with lightning speed. But as Dave Itzkoff shows in this revelatory biography, Williams’ comic brilliance masked a deep well of conflicting emotions and self-doubt.

Gold Dust Woman gives "the gold standard of rock biographers" (the Boston Globe) his ideal topic: Nicks' work and life are equally sexy and interesting, and Davis delves deeply into each, unearthing fresh details from new, intimate interviews and interpreting them to present a rich new portrait of the star. Just as Nicks (and Lindsay Buckingham) gave Fleetwood Mac the "shot of adrenaline" they needed to become real rock stars - according to Christine McVie - Gold Dust Woman is vibrant with stories and with a life lived large and hard.

Suddenly destiny took a backseat to survival. Seeking something more stable, perhaps subconsciously trying to distance himself from his absent father, Cranston decided on a career in law enforcement.

Instant number one New York Times best seller
Now updated with a new chapter
In his first and only official autobiography, music icon Elton John reveals the truth about his extraordinary life, from his roller-coaster lifestyle as shown in the film Rocketman, to becoming a living legend.
Christened Reginald Dwight, he was a shy boy with Buddy Holly glasses who grew up in the London suburb of Pinner and dreamed of becoming a pop star. By the age of 23, he was performing his first gig in America, facing an astonished audience in his bright yellow dungarees, a star-spangled T-shirt, and boots with wings. Elton John had arrived and the music world would never be the same again.
His life has been full of drama, from the early rejection of his work with song-writing partner Bernie Taupin to spinning out of control as a chart-topping superstar; from half-heartedly trying to drown himself in his LA swimming pool to disco-dancing with Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth; from friendships with John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, and George Michael, to setting up his AIDS Foundation to conquering Broadway with Aida, The Lion King, and Billy Elliot the Musical. All the while, Elton was hiding a drug addiction that would grip him for more than a decade.
In Me, Elton also writes powerfully about getting clean and changing his life, about finding love with David Furnish and becoming a father. In a voice that is warm, humble, and open, this is Elton on his music and his relationships, his passions and his mistakes. This is a story that will stay with you by a living legend.

I was Intrigued
I've known Elton John's music for a long time but did not know the man behind the music nor had I ever really cared to know. My teenaged daughter is enamored with his music at the moment which led us to see the movie Rocketman. From there my curiosity was now peaked about this unique man. So when this book was announced I happily put it on preorder. I am not disappointed! Little did I know that Elton was a marvelous storyteller and a very open and candid man. His story has me laughing out loud and ugly crying, sometimes they happen one right after the other. I love love love Taron's voice, always have so it was a double exciting purchase for me and he does not disappoint either. He has so much emotion and inflection when reading you start to forget that he is not in fact Elton John reading. After Elton read the prologue it was a bit of an "oh man" when Taron takes over but it is so enchanting I cannot leave the book for a moment. I listen in the car while cleaning, cooking and even while laying in bed before I go to sleep. It is a wonderful book and I am very very pleased with the in-depth personal account of Elton John. I am grateful he shared it.

This was an honest telling of a pretty incredible life. He doesn't dwell on what was not good (Mother) or what he really could have bragged about (his success & fortune), but instead portrays himself as a very hard working musician--not all a bed of roses. You cannot help but like him a lot.

FANTASTIC!!!!
Elton is not only a musical genius but a deeply talented writer. This is the best entertainment autobiography I have ever read. It is honest, funny, and as completely over the top as is Elton. Targon Egerton sounds like Elton and relays his incredible journey with all the highs and lows of becoming one of the greatest musical talents of all time. After listening once, I did not want to leave Elton's insightful, complicated, crazy world - and listened to the entire book again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT !

Brilliant!!!
This book is Brilliant!
Elton John tells us of his amazing journey in such an uncensored and unabashed way that it is utterly refreshing. It is less like an autobiography and more like Elton is sitting by the fire telling you his life story.
Taron Egerton IS Elton John. Enough Said.
The story is told in the first person and the only people that could possibly tell this story are Elton and Taron and both are simply amazing!
I highly recommend this audiobook!

A Book as Extraordinary as Elton
This book is an amazing look at one of the world’s most amazing people. I wish it had been read by Elton but Taron Egerton is the next best thing. Between the movie Rocketman and this autobiography I now understand this fabulous man whom I have loved for 45 years so much better than ever before. Elton helped me get into recovery 22 years ago, though he doesn’t know it. The recovery parts of the book and the movie touched me to my heart and soul. Other than my wonderful wife and my amazing sponsor of 22 years, John, no one has given me more or meant more to me than this chap I’ve never met (though I still dream of doing so). I love you Sir Elton Hercules John Reggie Kenneth Dwight, and I always will.

Elton - Friend for life
As you listen to Elton John tell his own story (or at least Taron Egerton voicing for Elton), you feel like he is relating his story just for you. It is as if the two of you are sitting together, and he is reminiscing on his life. And you are just rapt at attention, waiting for the next story, the next juicy tidbit. When it is over, I felt like I made a friend for life. I always loved his music; now I love him.

Thoroughly engaging!
I have loved Elton John's music since I was a 7th grader (many, many moons ago). This may not be an accurate review, as I have only started chapter two, but what I've heard so far has been delightful and poignant. Unfortunately, there are also horror tales of the abuse Elton suffered as a child. If I had any criticism, it's that Elton only read the dedication and forward - I was really looking forward to hearing his voice. But I must say, this narrator is killin' it! And Elton is a wonderful storyteller.

Amazing Story, paired with an Incredible Narrator
I LOVE this book. The story itself is incredible and is so perfectly Elton. The story structure and self deprecating humor is so authentic that even though it’s not Elton reading it, it sounds just like he’s telling the story to an old friend.
The openness and honesty Elton gives his story is so refreshing for a celebrity biography. He doesn’t hide his “dark” secrets or the unpleasant choices he made. He lays it all out in a frank and beautiful way.
The narrating is perfect, and I really enjoy all the different accents he does to fit each person. Having Taron Egerton narrate it was a stroke of genius. You can tell he really knows Elton, and the way Elton would speak.
This audiobook is the perfect marriage between story and narration. It’s a MUST listen to for any Elton John Fan.

Truly love Elton's telling of his life
This book is beautifully written and truly honest. Elton relives his greatest, saddest, and most vulnerable moments. He admits to his faults and some of his outrageous actions and yet shows how all those actions has made him who he is today in such an a lovely and inspiring way. The narrator Taron did a beautiful job conveying Elton’s spirit and English wit. I truly recommend this book to anyone.

Elton John Is The Man
I don’t really ever write reviews but after hearing his life story I felt compelled to do so. Not only is he a fabulous singer his life story makes you thankful he was able to live and become the wonderful artist he is today. What can I say I’ve always been a huge fan and I’m proud to say my 20 year old daughter and 25 year old son love his music as well.
My dream is to see him when he comes back to Jacksonville, Fl in June of 2019, not sure I will be able to afford to go but believe I’m going to try.
Thank you for sharing your life, your song and your memories.
Also a big shout out to Taron. I love your voice it’s as nice to listen to as it is to look at you.

Think you know him? Think again!
I’ve been a fan since the early seventies. I’ve read everything about the man, until I “read” this book. Hear Taron reveal the insights of this incredible life as if you’re living it. I’ve never listened to an audio book before. I started reading “Me” in print form until I discovered this format. To have Taron Edgerton whom totally nailed Elton in Rocked Man narrate this book is like having Elton himself tell you his incredible story! A must have for any hardcore Elton fan! I only hope a sequel to Rocket Man is made, Fully Furnished, the happy years!

Fantastic!!!!!!
I’ve always been a MUSIC fan. I love any and all books on the artists. I will say this is ABSOLUTELY the BEST ever. Elton takes you through his entire life. The ups the downs. This book made me realize,Elton, is by far the most down to earth contemporary artist in the world. I feel as if I showed up on his doorstep, he would ask you in for tea all the while sitting on his children. Such a wonderful read by Taron. Kudos to all involved. I will listen again. And I’m actually going to buy the hardback for my library. Such a great read....don’t pass this one up!

Luv you Elton

Honest and endearing
To cover Elton John’s history it would take more than 100.000 pages.
But this autobiography tells in such a truthful way the real story of one of the most important icons of Pop Music.
And the narration is outstanding
I felt like we were having a very long chat while sipping tea in a cold afternoon.
