I call this an Urban Fantasy, though the fantasy elements are restricted to a small rural community, and I didn't see those until almost halfway through the story.

It's also a Cozy Murder Mystery, and has elements of romance and soap opera.

vampire or 2 in fact , I guarantee 1 of the energy variety lol. Mainstream but read it

The book is enjoyable. I have never read the author before so I wasn’t expecting the series to be a fantasy. I would read the series just for the cat. I adored the cat Mr.Snuggles. The narrator is outstanding.

but very good. I haven't read C Harris before but decided to take a chance. The Midnight Series starter is full of people who aren't what you expect them to be but who take care of each other, no matter what..
