Story
Hot-shot lawyer McKenna Keaton finds herself in hot water with her own law firm when she’s (falsely!) accused of embezzlement. Placed on unpaid leave, she suddenly finds herself with the free time to return home and attend her youngest sister’s wedding activities. But it’s not all fun and games. Waiting back home is shy, nerdy Henry Blumenthal—McKenna’s high school rival for valedictorian who once took three hours to beat her at chess. Scratch that. He’s Hank Blume now, the famed documentarian, Durham, North Carolina’s, darling son.

Story
From the outside, I live a charmed life: hockey legend for a father, my own promising future in the league, a great family, awesome friends. It’s not untrue, but it’s not quite that simple either. My dad’s advice has always been to make hockey my number-one priority—at least until I make it to the pros. So going into my senior year of college, I have a plan. I’ll put in the effort required to pass my classes, play hockey like my life depends on it, and avoid relationships. All I have to do is stay focused on the end game. It should be easy.

Story
In her lively social history of American women and aging, acclaimed New York Times columnist Gail Collins illustrates the ways in which age is an arbitrary concept that has swung back and forth over the centuries. From Plymouth Rock (when a woman was considered marriageable if "civil and under fifty years of age"), to a few generations later, when they were quietly retired to elderdom once they had passed the optimum age for reproduction, to recent decades, American attitudes towards age have been a moving target.

A recent car crash has erased ten days of Marisa’s memories—a black hole leading up to the accident that’s left her disoriented.

It's a mission that's taken on new urgency after her father's untimely death and the news that her trust fund won't be released until she marries. In 1966 in a small town in Louisiana, a 19-year-old Black man named Gary Duncan pulled his car off the road to stop a fight. Duncan was arrested a few minutes later for the crime of putting his hand on the arm of a White child. Rather than accepting his fate, Duncan found Richard Sobol, a brilliant, 29-year-old lawyer from New York who was the only White attorney at "the most radical law firm" in New Orleans. Against them stood one of the most powerful white supremacists in the South, a man called simply "The Judge".

In my defense, I was left alone with a bottle of single-malt and a lifelong penchant for protecting my baby sister. Still, that's no excuse to send 10 drunk-texts on why her hasty marriage would be a mistake. If only I had just texted my sister. But nope. I accidentally sent the message to her, her groom, and his super hot wingman. I also used the phrase “super hot wingman”, so I’d like to die now.

Are you ready for the Wedding series?
Harlow
I promised him I would be there for the best day of his life. Not thinking I wouldn’t be the one standing next to him. But here I was attending the love of my life’s wedding day. I smiled when I saw him and pushed back the tears that wanted to come out. This was his day, and I was going to fulfill my promise.
Travis
It was supposed to be the best day of my life. But the second I got up, things started to fall apart. The kitchen just caught on fire. Flowers were from a funeral. My bride-to-be just had an allergic reaction, leaving by ambulance. Oh, and my ex-girlfriend just walked into the church.
They say you have to see the signs when they are right in front of you. Maybe she was just mine to have.

Loved this love story!
𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐨 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞
Let me first give a big shoutout to @fitteacherrachel because she was the reason I wanted this series so bad!
I listened to the audio version of this book and I absolutely ATE IT UP! The story had me sitting on my bed with my AirPods in, looking into space just devouring this story! The way that Harlow and Travis instantly clicked was everything for me and while I’m usually someone who isn’t necessarily for the friends to lovers bit, it totally worked in this instance, especially because their feelings were so obvious!
I just want to note that Travis is an idiot. He solidified my believe that men are big dummies because he couldn’t sit down and have a big boy conversation with Harlow but it made for such an enjoyable reunion 😂. The wedding day was absolutely cracking me up. I’m sure anyone watching me listen while driving probably thought I was nuts grinning from ear to ear. Honestly their love story was just so pure and so beautifully written. Absolutely loved this one!!

So good
Having read the prequel to Natasha Madison’s latest Southern Wedding series I knew I would have to wait until June to read it, but Mine To Have was so worth the wait. From the first chapter I was totally immersed in the story that Ms. Madison wove.
I do recommend that you read the free prequel, Mine to Kiss, before you embark on Harlow and Travis’s second chance at love story. They thought they would be together forever but fate stepped in and they parted. Now Harlow has been invited to Travis’s wedding and things are about to become complicated in more ways than either expected.
This was an emotional read at times as fate changes the course of Travis and Harlow’s lives once again. The connection that these two share has not diminished over time and it was entertaining to watch their journey. Can they come to terms with the past and in doing so forge a future together?
TThe narration from Savannah Peachwood and Sean Crsden was fabulous. SO easy to listen to and they brought these wonderful characters to life for me.
