Publisher's Summary

Charlotte Daley is the daughter of the newly elected POTUS. An only child, she's both spoiled rotten and entirely neglected by her powerful family. She's been forced to eat with the right forks, smile at all the right times, and be the picture of perfection for months. Now that her father is in office and too busy to know she exists, she's determined to exercise her new freedom before she heads back to college in New York.

Zane Parker has one job - to protect the president's daughter all day, every day. But she's been on a partying spree since the inauguration, heading down a dangerous path that threatens to ruin her reputation and cause a major scandal for her father. Zane will lose his job if he can't get her under control. Except he wants to sleep with her as badly as he wants to set her straight. She needs discipline. And he might be just the one to give it to her.

When unexpected circumstances tie Charlotte to DC for the foreseeable future, Zane makes her an offer that's anything but honorable. He'll give the first daughter all the thrills she's seeking in exchange for one thing...her obedience. Fascinated by Zane's dark promises, Charlotte agrees. Submission has never felt so good. But as Zane brings her deeper into his forbidden desires, enemies surface, and danger lurks....

First daughter and her Secret Service agent

This was a fast and good listen- Zane and Charlotte find themselves in an unenviable situation. Charlotte is the first daughter (and her parents are pretty awful) and Zane and she share a strong attraction. But they are forbidden to be with each other. How do they get past that obstacle to achieve their HEA. Throw in a couple of really dicey scenarios including a stalker and this is a well written and entertaining novel. The one thing is that the ending was way too quick and a little unsatisfying.

I loved the narration. Brian Pallino had the perfect voice for Zane and did an admirable female voice too. Emma Woodbine's male voice sounded a bit forced but overall, I enjoyed her narration as well. I'm happy I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook through Audible Escape.

I gobbled it down!

If you enjoyed Sierra Simone's American Camelot series, FSOG, and Alexa Riley's Protecting Freedom - I think you'll enjoy Misadventures of the First Daughter. One of the things that I really like about this series and that is perfectly exemplified here, is that they read very quickly - the pacing is fast and there is no slow burn to suffer through. The heat level is high without being raunchy and I felt like the level of emotion was elevated in a way that I wasn't expecting but that I'm totally here for. Charlotte could have come off as spoiled and entitled as the First Daughter, but I truly did sympathize with her situation. I'm always a fan of books that feature parents as the big baddies (and we def get that here in a way), so I really appreciated that the authors didn't stop there with the villainous characters. For as long as it took me to finally read this volume, I pretty much gobbled it down. As always, I can't wait for the next Misadventure and look forward to reading more from this writing duo! 3.5 out of 5 wine glasses.

Not great and the ending is faster than Hallmark!

This audio book was really dragged out and way out of the range of believability. From the ability to evade their security to the guy being able to have sex 5 times in an hour. If you want a book that is sex with constant mind wandering internal conversations throughout, then this is the book for you.

Hot AF

Whew - this book is half story half erotica, but I really enjoyed the characters, the strife, and the path to an HEA. Of course, can't have a sexy book without the chemistry between Zane and Charlotte being off the charts. Def a good read.

Both Emma and Brian do a fantastic job narrating this story. Shortly after I finished listening to it, I read that Brian passed away, which is absolutely a lost for audiobook lovers. His voice is incredible.

D/s aspect seemed forced

The D/s aspect of this story seemed forced and like it didn't fit the story or characters. Almost like this book was written and then the author was told to make it like 50 Shades of Grey.

Spoilers ahead:
At the beginning of this book, Charlotte is going to have sex with the eventual villain of this story but she changes her mind when he grabs her hair and spanks her. But not much later in the story, she is turned on and into it when Zane behaves in pretty much the same way by spanking her, dominating her and expecting her to submit. This didn't make much sense to me.

Besides the D/s aspect being forced, this story was ok. I'm interested in listening to Katherine's story, which is hinted at in this book.

Terrific story, except for the ending

Young dark love, this was so exciting, didn’t think I’d care for a political based story, but it really wasn’t. I could really feel their pain. My only disappointment was the ending, there should have been another chapter showing how they ended up together, it was just to vague. Brian Pallino was an excellent narrator, for both male & female. Would have been better if he’d read the entire book, she did a lousy male reading.

This is my first Misadventures. I'm on the fence on how I feel about this series concept. I wasn't a huge fan of Emma's narration and Brian was decent.
