Publisher's Summary

Standing between London and a deadly plot against the throne, are the dangerous spies and femme fatales that form the Company of Rogues...that's if they don't kill each other first.

Entire families have gone missing in the East End. When Caleb Byrnes receives an invitation to join the Company of Rogues as an undercover agent pledged to protect the crown, he jumps at the chance to find out who, or what is behind the disappearances. Hunting criminals is what the darkly driven blue blood does best, and though he prefers to work alone, the opportunity is too good to resist.

The problem? He's partnered with Ingrid Miller, the fiery and passionate verwulfen woman who won a private bet against him a year ago. Byrnes has a score to settle, but one stolen kiss and suddenly the killer is not the only thing Byrnes is interested in hunting.

Soon they're chasing whispered rumors of a secret project gone wrong, and a monster that just might be more dangerous than either of them combined. The only way to find out more is to go undercover among the blue blood elite...But when their hunt uncovers a mysterious conspiracy, Byrnes and Ingrid must set aside their age-old rivalry if they have any chance at surviving a treacherous plot.

Contains mature themes.

Interesting characters, loved the spicy parts, great build up and the overall story. Narration does it all justice.

I Love This World

I love the world building and character building of Bec Mcmaster. I’m so glad a new series continues in this world after the books of the London Steampunk Series.

Paranormal Adventure and Fiery Romance

Bec McMaster once again delivers on a fun, sexy paranormal steampunk adventure. This one follows reluctant partners Caleb and Ingrid as they uncover secrets about a dangerous experiment and attempt to resist their fiery attraction to one another.

The story is a great mix of romance, adventure, and mystery. There is a lot going on but it never feels like one plot element takes over the other. The characters each get their time in the spotlight and long time readers will recognize certain names and faces.

Ingrid and Caleb are perfect for readers who like romances between rivals, especially when those rivals are fiery together. They have some steamy moments and are a seamless team once they decide to cooperate with each other.

There were plenty of side characters who stood out, but none more so for me than Ava and Kincaid. I absolutely loved their banter and Ava’s awkwardness, so I can’t wait to see more of them.

The plot and action are tight and intense, with many scenes feeling like they should be in an action movie. The dialogue and romance are just what longtime and new fans will love. There are twists and turns, everything one could want in a paranormal steampunk romantasy. I had a great time with this book and am ready for the next!
