Great Story

This story was an odd blend. It was very much a second chance with a first love book, but at the same time it also went pretty deep into addiction and how it effects both the individual and those around them. If you want light hearted, this isn't it. It's pretty rare for me to finish a romance sad, but that's what happened here and it's not what I am looking for out of a romance.

was good story, good narrator, will try another of both. storyline good, interesting plot, at least narrator did different voices for different people to differentiate who is talking.

It was super cute at first. I loved the idea of the flashbacks and it was so so sweet when they finally linked up. The climax was strong, but just never ended. Kelsey ended up getting on my nerves. She was so sweet but ended up just being a narcissist.

I enjoyed this book but, if I am being honest, this was not the heavy read I was expecting or hoping for, I choose this author for the romance and the heat she so easily brings. The story itself was so well written, just not the kind of story I wanted.

Disappointing

Honestly, I hated it. It was chaotic and non sensical, with terrible transitions. One second they’re just meeting again after all this time and then all of a sudden, somehow, they’re kissing. The whole thing was hard to follow. Kelsey got what she wanted and then decided to get hung up on her ex again. Joy was getting with Kelsey and then got back into her open relationship. It jumped all over the place. And then it was one thing after the next. Too chaotic, no good flow, and if my OCD would let me quit something halfway through, I would have stopped listening to this.

Lori Prince, as always, does a masterful job, though.

P.s: I listened to this months ago but am only just getting around to writing the review, but I came back to it because that’s how much I disliked this book.

P.p.s: I have listened to another Jaime Clevenger book and it was better but I still didn’t love it. I’m the type that will listen to a book again, if I like it, because sometimes something new just takes too much brain power, but I would not listen to either of the two books I’ve listened to from this author more than once. I will listen to a third before I give up altogether; hopefully the third time is the charm here.
