The inspirational classic, More than a Carpenter, is now updated for a new generation of seekers with a fresh look, revised material, and a new chapter that addresses questions commonly raised today. Former skeptic Josh McDowell is now joined by his son Sean as they examine the evidence about Jesus. Is he really the Lord he claimed to be? How can we know for sure? More than a Carpenter offers arguments for faith from a skeptic turned believer.

Since its original publication in 1977, this modern classic has sold over 15 million copies, been translated into dozens of languages, and introduced countless people to the real Jesus. Now with new content that addresses questions raised by today's popular atheist writers.

Great resource

Fantastic and easy to read great resource for apologetics, bought for my 14 y.o son.

the tip of the intellectual iceberg.

Here your investigations into Jesus and christianity can begin. It's a great starting point, compelling enough for some to accept fully and for others to start looking at Jesus/christianity from a more legitimate angle. Christianity is not in antithetical to science or logical thinking. Quite the opposite.

Read the book instead...

Content is good. The voice of the reader is very hard for me to listen to compared to most Audible recordings. Just my opinion, but it would have served the customer better to employ a profession reader rather than just throw your son some work. The younger McDowell sounds like an excited adolescent and reads faster than necessary. Again ,just my opinion.

Amen!

I became a Christian 39 years ago after reading this book and it’s still as magical now as it was then! Thank you Josh McDowell for being the catalyst in making me a believer in Christ.

Narrator is a disservice

Once you get past the kid they used as a narrator and into the actual content of the book it's pretty good.

The narrator sounds condescending at best through most of the book which is not what you want when Christianity is an a low with young people. Sean did such a horrible job reading the book that I had to force myself to listen to it.

Very informative

The information given was information we, as Christians, should all know. Josh shares his experiences and research to give us a better understanding of what events happened and how they relate to each of us and Salvation. A great book, and his son did great with reading it.

Interesting, but with flaws

A Christian’s review:
This book ended better than it began. The author seems to prove the existence of God by telling us all the reasons he believes in God. Later he cites researches, historians and other experts … thus improving and supporting his earlier expressions of belief. Still, I was hoping for more. I’ve read many better than this.
BTW, the narration is abysmal, sounding immature and manic like an adolescent surfer dude on meth.

Excellent

Excellent short read that gets to the point. Author doesn't mince words and gets to the heart of the matter.

Such good content, I listened twice.

I loved the book when I’ve read it. When I read I have, for better or worse, a picture in my head of the author or characters, with voices.

I had a lot of cognitive dissonance with Sean’s voice because it in no way fit my picture or sound.

On the second listening I came to appreciate his useful enthusiasm and had a picture of how much joy it gave him to be telling this story from his perspective.

awesome book mystery

I really enjoyed listening to this book and actually went back and listened to it again because I fell asleep listening to it the first time not because I was bored but because I was tired. I enjoyed it so much I'll probably go back and listen to it again. I would recommend this to anybody who is questioning their face or wants to research the validity of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
