I’m already in a bad mood about having to train him, still salty about my old guy retiring on me.
But while I’m waiting, a woman pulls up my drive.
A woman straight from my damn dreams.
Curvy and pretty, looking at me with wide eyes framed with sooty lashes.
And suddenly, I’m no longer thinking about my late employee.
But then she opens her mouth and asks for me, introducing herself as Courtney, my new hire.
Courtney. Not Court, like the application said.
And I realize there’s been a mistake.
I can’t have this woman working here. Living on my property. Distracting me. I mean, my staff.
No. She can’t work for me. End of story.
Except she won’t leave. She even threatens to sue me.
Fine. If she won’t let me fire her before she even starts, then I’ll just have to make her leave on her own.

really liked this one
I loved this! The pacing in the beginning was a little slow for me, but overall I really enjoyed the story and the connection between the two MCs.
I loved the narrators! Ttey did such an amazing job! And while I typically love reading super short chapters like in this book, I did find that I was taken out of the story a couple times while listening to the narrators cut away mid spicy scene to let me know it was the next chapter.
For example: *very descriptive spicy scene* sudden interruption mid way through "Chapter 156. Sterling." *continued descriptive spicy scene from other characters POV*
This was not in anyway shape a reflection on the narration, simply a case of the writing style not being great for audio adaptation

Great narrators
narration was great, but I have to agree with another reviewer, that the MANY chapters took away from the flow of the book. Great story, but by the end I was getting a little frustrated with the constant start and stop. Overall that's my only complaint, everything else made for a good book.

Moving to the mountains
I loved this story and listening to Connor and Erin bring it to life was something special. Connor has that low deep voice we all love and Erin has the voice of a real woman, it’s not falsely feminine. It’s kind and smooth.
It’s a done deal, I need to move to a lodge in the mountains and pray that my version of Sterling Black is there!
Sterling Black is a grumpy man, never expecting more out of life than what he has with the guys at the lodge. They all work and eat together seamlessly. So when Court aka Courtney lands on his doorstep saying she’s the new maintenance worker, it throws him for a loop. Because instead of a man he is faced with a curvy, beautiful woman who is determined to stay and make it work. She insists she can fix anything…just connect her to the wifi. And in all fairness she does! Things slowly start to heat up and one night when he follows her back to her cabin aka the laundry cabin, he shows her just how desperate he is for her. And so the decision is made. She is his, but like a silly man he won’t come out and tell her his feelings. Gah! I loved the banter, the 200 chapters, the flipping from one POV to the other, the side characters, the possessive carry over his shoulder, all of it!
And as per usual SJ TILLY CAN DO NO WRONG!

Perfection!
I simply loved everything about this book. I finished it last night and immediately started it all over again!
SJ Tilly has proven once and for all that she can do no wrong. The main characters, the side characters, the setting, the storyline, the growth, the emotions? All of it was incredible. I don’t know how she consistently manages to write these larger than life characters that are still so relatable.
And while the story itself is wonderful, the narrators absolutely crushed this duet assignment. Erin and Connor BECAME Courtney and Sterling, and I believed every word.
**side note** Connor Crais narrating some of SJ’s lines momentarily struck me dumb. SO SPICY SO GOOD🔥🌶️
So I guess all that is to say- do yourself a favour and just listen to this one, you won’t regret it!😏
