Everyone should read this series! I just wish audible would get the last book in the series! I love the Southern Sisters Mysteries! I have listened to them many many times over the years. The characters are great and you really can't wait to see what happens next! I also enjoyed the narrator so much that I sought out other books she narrated. You will love this series and the characters! Every book in the series is a great read.

Yet another good one
Just when you thought there weren't any more eccentric characters, Anne George comes up with a passel of cyanide swilling snake handlers. I'm just sorry that audible does not carry the final book in this series. What a shame.

I love spending time with Mouse and Mary Alice, no matter what they're doing!
I sure wish someone would pick up where Anne George left off and give us some more adventures with these delightful Southern Sisters.
I'm almost finished listening to the series, I may have to listen to them over again when I need a little pick-me-up.
Ruth Ann Phimister is absolutely a delight, thank you SO much!

An Average mystery
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I am reviewing this book because I found the previous reviews misleading. It was rated five stars. I was disappointed. It was average at best. I wish that I had chosen a different title.
Would you recommend Murder Carries a Torch to your friends? Why or why not?
No - I would not recommend it to friends. It was not that good. I might however recommend it to my 90 year old mother. She might enjoy it. The 60 year old characters of the story sounded a lot like the folks in her assisted living community most of whom are in their 80s and 90s. I am in my early sixties and so were the characters in this book - except they sounded older - much older than me - maybe mid to late 70s. It was disconcerting to read about people my age who seemed so much older. I think the narrator played a part as well in making the characters seem older than their "age". It may come as a surprise to mystery writers but most of us in our sixties don't aspire to be Miss Marple.
Did Murder Carries a Torch inspire you to do anything?
Yes - it inspired me to avoid mysteries in the future that are offered by Audible in the buy one get one promotion.
