À propos de cet audio
Brilliant, silver-tongued Beth Heller (Mary-Louise Parker) is a lawyer with one client: her family's criminal empire.
When Beth moves to the beautiful island of Bermuda to set up a tax haven for her family, she never expects to be drawn into a deadly game of cat and mouse. As the body count on the island rises with blackmail, corruption, arson, catfishing, and sex tapes intertwined, Beth teams up with locals Tony Durant, a former attorney for the Ministry of Justice in London, and Serena Steede, a local investigator, to form a small law firm to defend the accused.
Fighting on the other side of crime alongside Tony and Serena, who each bring their own baggage to the table, Beth rediscovers her love for law. She slowly distances herself from her family’s sinful ways, only to find herself and her team at the center of a sinister plot that threatens everything they’ve built. With their own lives on the line, the trio must unravel a web of lies and deceit before it's too late and the shocking truth behind the murders is revealed.
From the mind of author James Patterson, Murder in Bermuda is an edge-of-your seat, hair-raising listen cowritten by Aaron Tracy (The Coldest Case) and Thaddeus McCants (winner of the 2020 BET Project Crea8 writing competition).

Regardless, Aaron Tracy and Thaddeus McCants provide a satisfyingly twisty-turny set of tales involving a questionably ethical American lawyer ('Beth Heller') forming a defense firm & investigating episode-formatted mysteries in Bermuda - while repeatedly returning to the case of a murder in the family of their legal assistant ('Serena Steele').
The characters are intriguing, the plots are Television-screenplay quality, and the dialogue is commendable. Unfortunately, the scripts unfold so quickly that character exposition and other plot elements don't have time to properly unfurl.
As to presentation: the production quality is unsurpassed. The full cast performers are brilliant, sound effects & musical emphases are judicious, and Audible Originals sound editors mix the recording flawlessly (even noisy wordless fight scenes don't interfere with the listening experience).
Altogether, 'Murder In Bermuda' merits 6.5 stars out of 10. As a 'Plus' selection, it's like a free dramatic podcast: worth your time for a boring drive or a quiet night shift. Should they ask for a Credit, however, you should save it for something else.
Passable Radioplay. Rushed.

They had some good voice actors, but the editing was not great. For example, during the courtroom scenes, when someone was testifying, you could hear what was supposed to be the rest of the courtroom reacting—but sometimes the reactions would come too late, like gasps of shock happening several moments after the shocking reveal, making it feel off and unnatural. The pace was also strange at times. For instance, in one scene, a character walks toward someone suspicious, yells for the suspect to stop, gets pushed, and is asked if they're okay by someone else —all of that happens in almost the same breath instead of at a realistic pace. It was odd, broke the pull of the story on the listener in my opinion.
Overall, I'm giving it 3 stars because, even though it was far from great, the first half of the story was better than the second, and it did keep me entertained for a couple of hours.
Lots of oddly fast investigations within one story
