Surprising
I was pleasantly surprised by the narrator. She had a lot of scope and handled the voices with silky transitions. I love James stories because the characters are multi-dimensional and inhabit the times with authenticity … pineapple stoves and and all.

The voice for the main character almost ruined it
I would rather not be negative, however, for those of you who the story is affected by the voices given to the characters
The annoying lilt given to Mary almost made me stop
listening.
The rest of the story was pleasant - though not one of the author s best.
