Publisher's Summary

A sexy, emotional, heart-stopping romance novel from number one New York Times best-selling author Lauren Blakely with all new narration from Joe Arden and Andi Arndt!

Ten years ago, I let the love of my life slip through my fingers. It’s my greatest regret, especially since she’s all but disappeared. When she walks back into my world unexpectedly, I have one mission - win her back. Whatever it takes.

But the gorgeous, brilliant, tough-as-iron Shannon has secrets of her own, and a family past she’s trying to escape.

Slowly but surely, I break down her walls over our sinful nights together, with a connection more passionate than ever, an intimacy more fiery than it was before.

But the past can only stay behind you for so long. And when the people who want a piece of her family start circling her, I’ll have to prove I’m the man to protect her from her suddenly dangerous present.

Good series!

I'm enjoying this series! I actually listened to the book following this 1 1st then came back and listened to this 1. Now on to the 3rd 1. Great series of books and happy they are included in Audible as I love to paint and the storyline with the narrators are keeping me listening for more!

Story was flat and love story cheesy

The story wasn't all that interesting and most parts of the romance was so unbelievable and cheesy. Had to force myself to finish it. Not as good as I thought. The performance by the readers were great though.

Stale Sandwich of a book

This book had the potential to be great, but it fell flat. I love stories of old flames rekindling their love, but this one left me bored and confused. The characters were likeable but their conflicts were completely surface level and many things happened in the book that didn’t feel like they held a purpose in Shannon and Brent’s story. Shannon’s past had no bearing on their relationship whatsoever. It felt like half the book was about one story, and the other half about another completely unrelated story.
Several questions were left unanswered but none interesting enough to continue on with the following books.

Not what I expected.

Not want I expected.
But it was still worth the listen.
Joe Arden and Andi Arndt are always great together.

This just proves that our imagination can get us into trouble. Always use communication.

But we are only human. LOL.

Two of my favorite narrators make this book awsome

This is a fantastic story I can't wait to see how it ends. The narrators are some of my most favorite to listen to. I feel invested in the characters and am beyond curious to see where the author takes us next.

Hot and steamy

Meet Brent Nichols. If you thought Lauren Blakely’s other male characters were hot you ain't seen nothing yet. This story is as hot and steamy as they get.

It takes you back 10 years when Brent and Shannon were madly in love and engaged to be married. Happy until the day an opportunity arose and their life and love is torn apart. Years later they meet again and their attraction to each other is just as strong as it was back then. Brent lost her once before and tries everything to get her back but Shannon doesn’t exactly make things easy for him. Will they be able to forgive their faults from the past? Will secrets tear them apart or bring them closer? Will they finally find that happily ever after?

I truly loved this story. The sexual attraction between Brent and Shannon is sizzling, the scenes are indescribably hot and the plot has you captured from the moment you start to read and you don’t want it to end. Sweet Sinful Nights indeed. But this story is not only about sex and lust, but also a very emotional journey of love and trust. I loved seeing some of the other characters like Clay and Julia make an appearance and am intrigued by the new ones I met in this book. This is the first of a new series and I can’t wait to read the next one. Thank you Lauren. Yet another five stars.

This new re-imagined series is just another thing for me to love by Lauren Blakely. I don't like insta-love so I love that this story is about reunited love. I love that we get a glimps of before and can feel how much they loved each other before and it is so easy to see them falling in love again. I love how confident and bossy Brent is and how protected but still confident Shannon is. These two are a great reminder to everyone that sometimes people can change. I also like how the main story line will continue onto book 2 even if the main characters change. I liked this look before but I like the new version so much more. I always love a 1st person POV so I was sold on re-listening when I saw this was coming out.

The narrator is great!! In my review for the first version of this book I said it needed to be dual narrated and in this version that's what I got and so much more. I love that we not only get a dual narration by Andi & Joe, we also get a few other POV chapters by other great narrators which will be main narrators in future books. This is my favorite kind of narration, because everyone gets their own voice.

My Thoughts on My Sinful Nights

5 of 5 stars

I hadn't previously read the first version of this series but I'm certainly happy I get to experience it this time. I really enjoyed what I just finished.

Brent was kind of impossible not to love. Even with the way things happened in the past, I couldn't blame him or dislike him. It just felt like a case of bad timing.

Shannon/Shay as well was easy to like even if there were moments I wanted to shake her for jumping to conclusions. I really felt like the love between these two characters was clear. It just took them a decade to get on the same page.

I also loved that while they were apart they both did things for themselves instead of being frozen in place because of their heartbreak. They really grew during that time and I think it made them more ready for each other the second time around.

I loved the mystery that was thrown into this story as well as the family dynamics too. I look forward to reading more about this family soon.

The narration on this was everything I hoped for and more. I love Joe Arden and Andi Arndt. They never disappoint. But I also really enjoyed the multi cast addition with other favorite narrators playing some of the side characters in their POV chapters.

A SWEET & SLOW-BURNING SECOND-CHANCE

What I love most about a Lauren Blakely book is that you know exactly what you’re going to get - a romance that’ll be full of feels, that the romance will have emotional layers and that the storyline will include a wealth of interesting secondary characters. And Shannon and Brent’s ten year second chance had everything I was hoping for as they slowly put a costly misunderstanding behind them, revealed a heartbreaking secret and healed their damaged love. Because they had to reveal, heal and open up.. they had to learn to trust and lean on each other.. and they had to unite, let go of the past and finally move forward together. However that wasn’t easy when Brent had such a charmed life compared to Shannon whose Mom was wearing an orange jumpsuit for the rest of her life for orchestrating the brutal murder of her Dad. A life-changing crime that still haunts Shannon and her brothers.. but one her Mom has always denied - and that secondary roll-over plot continues to build through this series.

Worth a credit? This five-part series set in Las Vegas is off to a great start with Joe and Andi epically narrating a well-balanced dual POV storyline with a touch of mystery, sweet sentiments, sexy times, chemistry, romance and passion.. and yes it would’ve been creditworthy - but YAYE it’s offered absolutely free to Audible Escape members :)

Shannon isn't worth it

Maybe its because there isn't any real build up of the characters and their love story, but I'm several chapters in and I still don't care about or for Shannon at all. So far she's been an extreme example of "drama because I won't talk to you." Plus, all she ever does is praise him, but then immediately assumed the worst of him? Ugh.

Second chances!

Unlike her romcoms, Lauren Blakely's My Sinful Nights is a heartfelt start to her newly reworked Sinful Men series. 10 years have gone by, and Brent is still in love with Shannon. Things had gone all wrong. But now, a chance to work through the misunderstandings and problems that occurred, and he will not let it pass by. Shannon is not interested in a second chance. Or is she? There is so much that has happened, so much that has gone unsaid and just smoldered for years that if she lets it out, it will not be good. Brent is relentless though and we can only hope that he can win her over. Lauren Blakely has given this story a refreshing update, it's own second chance if you will and come up with a winner. Her characters always intrigue me. We have Brent who is impossible not to love. And we have Shannon who is full of misconceptions and misunderstandings. I love the way these two interact, adding their little gifts to the mix, showing just what a small gesture can mean. It's a great start to the series, with a little crazy family interaction, a little mystery and a lot of love.

Add in Blakely's uncanny ability to cast her characters, and we have a winner. Joe Arden and Andi Arndt are always phenomenal. They can easily match their characters' personalities and make them seem real. Then we add in the guests, like Maxine Mitchell, Samantha Cook and Teddy Hamilton and it's like coming to a party with all our favorites!

Multi Cast Deliciousness

A retelling of her original book, lots of new material.
Brent and Shannon - pulled apart by miscommunication, distance, and misplaced priorities 10 years ago.
They meet back up through business, and old wounds are healed.
With an undercurrent of danger from her father's murder, there are mysteries that will be revealed over the next books.
The narration was Excellent- Joe Arden and Andi Arndt with the main characters, and some great cameos sprinkled through the book from Maxine Mitchell, Tim Paige, & Teddy Hamilton, and a surprise appearance from Sebastian York in the epilogue as Michael. Recommend series!

Live with Love

Overall 4 stars
Performance 5 stars
Story 3-3.5 stars

I'm such a sucker for second chance romances and this one really hit me in the feels. It's always hard to balance the separation and reunion in second chance romances and Lauren Blakely did it wonderfully for Brent and Shannon. Yes, the initial misunderstanding was a bit over the top, but it was really only the straw that broke the camel's back. At that point in their lives, they just weren't emotionally ready and mature enough to make things work long term. I appreciated that even though mistakes were made, they tried to prevent them from happening again and to show the other that they were all in this time around. The overall pacing of the story was a little slow, but I'm excited to learn more about the secondary characters, especially Mindy and the Sloan siblings. I really enjoyed the bit of suspense too regarding Shannon's parents and their tragic history. It will be interesting to see it all play out in the series.

The narration by Joe Arden and Andi Arndt was wonderful and they did a fantastic job bringing Brent and Shannon to life. The additional cameos by Teddy Hamilton, Sebastian York, Maxine Mitchell, Samantha Cooke, and Tim Paige were such a treat. No one does audio better than Lauren Blakely! I'm excited to listen to Ryan's story next.
