NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE

From New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult, the “compelling” (USA TODAY) novel about a girl who sues her parents for the rights to her own body. Featuring fan favorite Jesse, who appears in the upcoming novel Hollow Bones.

Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate—a life and a role that she has never challenged...until now.

Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister—and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable, a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for the sister she loves.

A beautiful, heartbreaking, controversial, and honest book” (Booklist, starred review) My Sister’s Keeper examines what it means to be a good parent, a good sister, a good person. Is it morally correct to do whatever it takes to save a child’s life, even if that means infringing upon the rights of another? Is it worth trying to discover who you really are, if that quest makes you like yourself less? Should you follow your own heart, or let others lead you?

I can recommend this book wholeheartedly, if you're ready to cry your eyes out at the end. Heart wrenching. The narrators did a stellar job.

Heartbreaking story

This story sure makes you think about your own morals and ethics and makes you wonder what you would do in that situation.
The story was really well written and the narrator did a fantastic job as Well. This is the first book I read by this author. I would certainly try another one.

Wow! What an emotional roller coaster this book was/is. One minute, you feel for the parents, the next minute you feel for Anna!!! It’s a lovely story and very well written :))

The ending got me!!!!

I saw the movie first and a few months ago, I read a comment on Facebook saying the book didn't have the same ending, so I had to read that story! My only complaint is that sometimes it's hard to know when you are in the story. Is Sara still talking about something in 1993 or the present? Apart from that, the story was amazing and the end had me in tears. I also liked that every character has their unique voice.

I read the book years ago and on a whim downloaded the audiobook. I was not disappointed! The multi-voice style really works with this story and created a very engaging experience. #Audible1
