Publisher's Summary

Rigged financial markets and hopeless under-regulation on Wall Street are not new problems. In this book, Susanne Trimbath gives a sobering account of naked short-selling, the failure to settle, and her efforts over decades trying to get this fixed.

Twenty-five years ago, Trimbath was working “backstage at Wall Street” when a group of corporate trust specialists told her about a problem in shareholder voting rights. When she went to senior management at Depository Trust Company (DTC), then and still the largest securities depository in the world, they brushed it off, saying, “You can’t balance the world”. Ten years later, a lawyer from Texas would tell her that the same problem was about to blow up the financial markets: Wall Street brokers are using short sales and failures to deliver to grab the assets of American entrepreneurs.

This is a cautionary tale. What started as a regulatory failure turned into a regulatory crisis. Shareholder democracy is in shambles. The institutions that were established to correct a problem of trade settlement failures have instead exacerbated the problem. Global financial markets may not survive what comes next.

THE WORLD DESERVES TO KNOW

DRSusanne Trimbath has a beautiful mind and heart. Retail investors (Apes aside) have no idea what actually happens when you invest in the US stonk market. Investors should be furious that your hard earned dollars have absolutely no impact on the value of a companies stock price. HFT and derivatives has negatively revolutionized what was once a a simple supply and demand fair market structure. GREED and the 0.1% have no interest in making anyone else money Aside from themselves. Superstonk has great links to AMAs with DRSusanne Trimbath if you are interested in learning more after this read.

Well written, intriguing, and eye-opening - DRS

Fully recommend this book to anyone interested in financial markets.

Well written/performed, interesting narrative, good pacing, and eye-opening information.

Very easy to hear the passion for the topic and eagerness to speak on her expertise while refusing to speculate outside of it. Author's credibility is (in my opinion) unquestionable; she states what she knows and openly states what she does not. There is no speculation, only lived experiences and facts.

It is a welcome change to most others who claim to know it all, and offer you breadth with no depth.

DRS your shares.
