Publisher's Summary

Never...

assume you know someone. Harry Blue is the top sex crimes investigator in her department. She's a seasoned pro who's seen it all. But even she didn't see this coming: her own brother arrested for the grisly murders of three beautiful young women.

Never...

accept a reassignment to the middle of nowhere "for your own good". Harry's been sent to a makeshift town in a desolate landscape - a world full of easy money, plenty of illegal ways to spend it, and a ragtag collection of transient characters who thrive on the fringes of society. A place where little grows but evil flourishes.

Never...

trust anyone. Looking into a seemingly simple missing persons case, Harry's been assigned to a new "partner". But is he actually meant to be a watchdog? Still reeling from the accusations against her brother, Harry can't trust even her own instincts, which she's never doubted...until now.

Never...

go anywhere without leaving a trace. Far from the world she knows and desperate to clear her brother's name, Harry has to mine the dark secrets of her strange new home for answers to a deepening mystery - before she vanishes in a place where no one would ever think to look for her.

Never Never is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride with enough intrigue and suspense to keep you guessing until the final minute. You'll never be able to turn it off.

Never Never listen to this one

This was a real miss for James Patterson. The main character is yet another stereotypical unpleasant, damaged, barely functional woman. This is getting really old. The story plods along so much that even the narrator sounded bored. This is definitely not worth the time to listen and was a waste of a good credit.

Extreme amount of cussing. Was good storyline.

I didn't think I would end up liking this book. But it got a lot better, actually it was pretty great story telling about halfway through. You'll have to make it through about 20 chapters of an extreme amount of needless cussing before that though, a slowish start but it really ended up great. Thankfully a great narrator and James Pattersons famous very short chapters.

terrible, could not finish

What would have made Never Never better?

So I think I have probably read all the James Pattersons adult books - I have certainly enjoyed some more than others but have never really disliked any. This book is terrible - in all fairness maybe it improves after the first half - I could not be bothered to finish it. Very dissapointing!

Has Never Never turned you off from other books in this genre?

no

How could the performance have been better?

some voice variations would have been great

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

no

Worst Patterson ever

Over the years I have mostly enjoyed James Patterson's books, but I'd have to say this one is the worst. I don't want to go in to too many details as there would be spoilers. The main character is very unbelievable, I'd like to hope that such an insecure person would not be part of the law enforcement family. I definitely do not recommend this book to anyone.

Highly disappointed

I did not finish listening to the book. I actually returned it. . I tried to enjoy it, but was unable to due to the highly offensive cursing. A word here or there, I can deal with, but this by far is the worst novel I have listened to (or barely listened to) with Patterson's name associated with it. Anyone who knows me can attest I have thoroughly enjoyed his writings.... up to this point. I sincerely hope this is NOT foretelling of his future writings.

Keeps me coming back for more

JP must be intrigued by shooting specialists lately. Good story, not his best but interesting.

Good listening

Love the Australian accent. Adds to the interest. Better to listen to books in order they were written. You can listen to this book without having listened to the first book in series but there a better perspective if you follow the story from the beginning. I listened out of order so I listened to this one again for continuity.
