Publisher's Summary
Legions of readers entranced by the New York Times best-seller Twilight are hungry for the continuing story of star-crossed lovers Bella and Edward. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural spin. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.
What the critics say
"New Moon will more than feed the bloodthirsty hankerings of fans of the first volume and leave them breathless for the third." (School Library Journal)
"Bella's dismay at being ordinary (after all, she's only human) will strike a chord even among girls who have no desire to be immortal, and like the vampires who watch Bella bleed with 'fevered eyes', teens will relish this new adventure and hunger for more." (Booklist)

Amazing story
I am a huge fan of the books I have personally read them 6 times. I figured audiobooks would be great so I could hear the story again while performing daily tasks and running errands. I still love the story but I'm not a fan of the narrator she reads the story as if everyone has an attitude problem, it sounds rude and sometimes aggressive. It would have been much better if it was read as more relaxed and easygoing/playful. Either way I wanted it read to me so, you get what you get.

Good book
I love that book, it’s my favorite one of all four ♥️ but the voice they use to read it, which is suppose to be Bella’s, is all kind of wrong, she sounds way older than her supposed 18 years old, and just plain doesn’t sound right. But I got used to it nonetheless 🤷🏻♀️

love these books, so everything about it gets a 5 but the person reading was 100% the wrong choice. her voice is more what I would imagine Jessica sounding like. it driving me nuts, it just doesn't fit right. that being said she does a great job narrating, just not the right fit in my opinion.

What did you love best about New Moon?
without spoiling the book. There is many parts that presents situations that the outcome is highly anticipated. Keeps you interested, involved and entertained.
What did you like best about this story?
The easiness to follow the book. Some times a simple, well planned and great flow is a great break from thinking and a step into peaceful bliss. Much of this book was used for "Mommy break" and paired with a 1000 piece puzzle and bottle of wine.

The very end when the Jacob and Edward divide truly gets set in place.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There was many times that the book made me laugh and cry. There is many emotions that the book brings - sad, angry, happy, scared, curious.
Any additional comments?
I said I would never read these books. However, I broke down and started to.. Glad I did. Downloading the thrid book now.

Emotionally Painful...
It was so hard waiting for Edward to appear in this book because all I want is for them to continue on. Bella's pain was really intense and this book was darker, sadder then the first. She did not annoy me as others here have stated with her aching heart that could not be cured. I am 46 and it really takes you back to those painful adolescent years of heart wrenching relationships. A great listen and I could not take my ear phones out to the annoyance of my family but found myself wanting to skip ahead (though I didn't)because it was so hard to continue on in Bella's pain.

read it for the exciting climax
Book 2 is really bland, long and kind of boring compared to the other books. I agree with other reviewers, if I was reading the book instead of listening, I would have skimmed over hundreds of pages. Bella wallows in her depression and brings you down with her. But the connection between her and Jacob and the rather exciting climax are crucial to the series story line. While I know that this series is intending for 13 year olds and I rolled my eyes often at Bella's insecurity, the obsession/love she has with Edward and the blatant Romeo and Juliet plot line, I still gobbled it up. These books are like donuts - you know there's no substance, but you just might eat the whole box anyway because it just tastes so darn good.

This was painful
The author managed to turn Bella into a co-dependent, whiny, annoyingly stupid teenager, that can not handle life on her own. In the first book I thought of her as strong, smart, and with a good head on her shoulders, yeah she was a teen but she seemed like she knew herself and was someone another teenager could look up to. In this book she is just the opposite. I would never want my daughter to read this book. She is so over-dramatic and dense that it is painful to listen to. It has a few good moments but it must be a lead-in book to the next one. Nothing much happened in the book. At least not enough to have to listen to for over 14 hours. It could have been summed up in about 5hrs. I truly believe that the author could have kept Bella's strength and individualism and still portrayed the love story.

Good Stuff for Twilight Fans
I enjoyed the book very much and likewise the audio version. In particular, I loved the narrator's voice. She became Bella to me. She does a great job of changing tone and tenor for different characters. The book moves along well, the characters are true to their original story. I really liked it, but it is not a stand-alone. Read book one first before trying this one.

Adult male heterosexual Twilight fan
This was my favorite book in her series until I read the 4th. The twists are wonderful. The ideas, theme, plot, and story line are great. I am an extremely ravenous book reader and breeze through about 60 novels a year. My daughter got me into this series and I have loved it. I have read other Vampire books but hers are stupendous. As an adult married male with teenagers, it is also refreshing to have morals in a book for teens. The sappy love story stuff is actually amusing also and easily passed over as humor at my own youth.

Terrible Narrator!
I love these books - this one is my least favorite, but it's necessary to get to the next ones. But, I HATE HATE HATE this narrator! She's terrible. She doesn't have different voices for the characters, and she shows NO emotion. It's annoying. I wish they could have paid an actual narrator to do it. These books are huge! We need better narration.

Enjoyable
This was an enjoyable book if you like this type of theme. It was a book that any audience can listen to as it applied to both teens and adults. It has romance yet with the added plus of the "underworld" vampire theme. The writer does not rush the story which is part of what keeps you listening because you are left in suspense with this trilogy. There are times that the book is slow but it picks up enough and is interesting enough to keep you going. The only thing I found annoying was the constant use of the phrase, "I shuddered," and that while Bella is described often as a smart girl, there are scenarios where she must have been struck dumb because it's obvious what is going on. So while that was annoying to me, I still found the book interesting and suspenseful and listened to all three books in this trilogy. The first two really set the stage and develop the characters while the last one is probably the best as it starts to delve deeper into the vampire world. All of the books in this trilogy are clean, meaning that your children could listen to them without you worrying.

Decent continuation of the story
This was a decent continuation of the story however after listening to the updated versions of the first book and having listened to many other audio books, I am disappointed in the delivery of the audio book itself. at times it was hard to differentiate characters and everyone seemed to have the same emotion due to the way the readers inflections fell into every character. it got better as the book went on but still not nearly as good as any other audio book I have listened to.
