Incredible approach to audio learning, No grammar.

I'm not grammar averse, but not learning using complex terms is much more enjoyable. This guy is brilliant.
The only downside is the limited vocab used. I wish he loaded it with more verbs and more common words.
No need for any PDF. It's just to recall key concepts, no need to follow along. Overall loved the approach.
Hoping he'll do the next level.

it gets annoying that they do both types of spanish but I just use it as extra time to practice the spanish I am interested in... he says a few rules that don't apply to every dialect. but overall it's very helpful. be warned there are definitely many different words for what he teaches in this book. they mean the same thing but are used differently in each country.

Next Steps in Spanish

An easy way to gain basic Spanish skills. Follows nicely from the first book. Still a lot of vocabulary not discussed however.

Excellent Course

A very good continuation of Paul's first course. He carries on with common verb tenses and has you practicing them until they stick. His explanations are also very clear so there's no doubt about which tense should be used.

Uneven pacing, decent material

The material covers a reasonable range. The pacing for the call-and-repeat format is frustrating. They obviously didn’t field test it. Essentially, the teacher says a phrase in English, pauses for the listener to say it in Spanish, then two native speakers say the phrase back-to-back. It would be considerably better to have less of a pause after the initial phrase, with more of a space after the native speaker to repeat. Also, it does make sense to hear the two speakers. However, they could trade off for each phrase rather than both speak each phrase. That would allow for more content in the course.

In short, it’s not well produced but it is worth a run-through for review.

grammar based programs didn't work for me

I'm determined and excited to learn Spanish, lessons day one and I get bombarded with grammar and yo, tu, el, ella..... and i loose all interest until I watch the next Spanish movie. Theres just something demoralising about grammar based learning, don't get me wrong its absolutely important beyond beginner sentences and structuring coherent Spanish conversations. But it zaps the fun out of learning any Romance language.

This audiobook, part one and next steps is different, intuitive, practical and will build on top of that boring grammar stuff in a natural way. I hope my two cents help you decide

Just love it!!!!! effortless learning! The best!

I can now carry on pretty decent conversations with random people that I meet and they understand me with ease. I've been told several times that not only is my accent wonderful but that I speak Spanish very well. some people cannot even tell that I'm a beginner. this course has helped me become comfortable expressing myself quite liberally it is wonderful foreign language that is not so foreign in anymore.

Excellent Spanish Lessons

This book taught someone with a history of trouble learning languages a great deal of Spanish. It was easy to follow and fun to use while commuting to work in the mornings. I only with there was a third book in the series or a recommendation for next steps.

Wonderful Spanish Course!

Great course to improve your fluency. You learn a lot of helpful Spanish phrases. It is a great Spanish verb drill. You will definitely learn when to use the two forms of past tense in Spanish. I loved this book and Paul’s training method.

Disenchanted

I really liked the first Spanish with Paul Noble, but this one is beyond ANNOYING. There is way too much repetition of the same words and phrases over and over and over and over again, with very little new vocabulary. If a third Spanish with Paul comes out, I will hesitate big time before buying it unless he offers more vocabulary and less repetition.

Great learning

I feel like I genuinely have learned a lot from this book. it uses repetition to teach, so it's easy to get burnt out. but I felt super accomplished after finishing it!

Great system!

Had to brush up on my Spanish for a job, and Paul Noble did not disappoint. This is a great system, using just the right amount of repetition in a conversational style to reinforce understanding and fluency.
