Publisher's Summary

Sex crimes Detective Aiden Carlisle is slowly getting used to being in a committed relationship with Dawn Kinsley - a relationship that isn't always easy since Dawn is not only a psychologist but also a former victim in one of Aiden's cases. Aiden's private and professional lives collide when Dawn's newest patient gets in trouble with the law. Will she be able to stay objective enough to solve the case without pushing Dawn away?

The same case also throws Deputy District Attorney Kade Matheson's well-ordered life into chaos. In the last few years, Kade has taken case files and law books, not lovers, to bed. She has been focused on her career, but now the case forces her to finally face her attraction to women. She suddenly finds herself with two secret admirers, but which one is more dangerous - the threat to her life or to her heart?

Contains mature themes.

great books

i loved the continuation of Aidan and Dawn's story and the burgeoning story of Cade and Dell, the Change of Pace was great and hopefully we get a longer novel continuing Cade and Dell's relationship

Great sequel

If you enjoyed the first book you will probably enjoy this one too. Kade got the focus that Dawn got in the previous book. My only issue with the story was the relationships seemed a bit too forced like they were trying to meet a quota, the Kade and Del relationship seemed rush but believable, but as a whole it conveyed this every woman on earth is a lesbian or bi vibe. Despite that it was great I kind of wish it became a long running series but I will settle for replaying it.

I enjoyed the cast of characters of course AC did a fantastic job and I am enjoying Jae more and more. The novela for the ending was the icing on the cake.

Trying to make characters fit together

I am sorry, but I can’t see Kade and Dell together in any way shape or form. Trying to fit them together in this book is hard to see. Wish there was a more believable love interest for Kade.

Great book!

This is actually the 2nd book in the series, the first is Conflict of Interest. A very lesbian cop, attempts to court a very straight (or so we assume) sexy district attorney. I appreciated the humor in this book, and also how it shined a light on the main characters of the previous book.

Worth it if you liked the first.

Why a 4/5? Eh. Because as much as I admired the story telling and Narrative performance, I simply wasn't overwhelmed by it as a whole. Also I spend a good period of time mildly frustrated with a certain part of the plot in the beginning. But overall it was still a really good book and made for a pleasant sequel.

A Must Hear Sequel

Between Jae's writing and Abby Craden's narration, this is a must hear winner. I would certainly listen to another with this amazing cast of characters.

Outstanding

Outstanding performance, well developed characters, timely and seems well researched. I hope there’s a prequel and sequel.

Delightful sequel

Can't wait the more stories about these folks. This book was very easy to listen to. Abby Craden brings these characters, richly developed by Jae, to life with her narration.
I highly recommend this Audible book.
