“A hilariously fresh and spicy rom-com that I couldn’t put down!” -Meghan Quinn, New York Times Bestselling Author
Help Wanted: Grumpy mountain man seeks baby momma. Job is an incubator position only. Surrogate must be impervious to grunting as the form of communication and nosy brotherly neighbors. Rustic mountain range housing available upon request.
I wanted to pummel my irritating brothers when they posted their own version of a wanted ad to help me with my life.
But I can’t fault the results once the right woman lands in my lap.
Becoming a single father is not a decision I made lightly. In fact, it’s the biggest decision of my entire life.
Which is why when I interview Trista, I know she’s perfect.
She’s wild, she’s opinionated, she wears cowboy boots. Even my pet goat loves her…
She’s the exact type of person I was holding out for.
And to my great horror, I realize on our first night of attempting this baby-making dance—when the lights are low, the cheap wine is flowing and the home-insemination supplies are laid out on the kitchen counter—I want to do a lot more than just make her my surrogate.
I want to make her mine.

Nine Month Contract by Amy Daws
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Comic Levity: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Steam: 😤😤😤
Sexual Tension: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🎧Audiobook Narration by Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon
Narration Quality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Emotional Impact: ❤❤❤❤❤
Voice Action (DUET) 👍👍👍👍👍
Nine Month Contract had me laughing out loud, giggling, and chuckling. It kept me entertained and engaged. It invoked the emotional roller coaster of feelings when things got deep and personal between Wyatt and Trista. Their pain from the past brought pain to my heart. But mostly it brought a smile to my face.
Nine Month Contract by Amy Daws should appeal to those who love a lot of comedy woven into their romance. This MC is a whole lot of GRUMPY with sprinkles of MOUNTAIN SUNSHINE who does best when allowed to spread his love language: Acts of Service without having a defiant, stubborn recipient, who has her 6-inch heels dug firmly into Fletcher Mountain, balking his every move. His struggle is real, and the more he tries to deny feelings for his new neighbor/surrogate baby mama, the grumpier he gets.
I would identify this book as a bit of a slow-burn, but that just intensified the sexual tension with every chapter. It’s like we knew they’d finally succumb to their primal needs, but just how long was author Amy Daws going to put us through that wringer? If I didn’t have gel nails, which are impossible to chew, those puppies would be gone! There were so many scenes where the heat was rising, the juices were flowing, but something stomped out the embers and turned off the faucet.
🎧AUDIOBOOK REVIEW🎧
When Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon work together on an audiobook, it is always a listening treat. Nine Month Contract is one of my favorite narrations from them as a team. My experience with this story was heightened through the audiobook. I listened along as I read, or I read as I listened along. Whichever way you want to put it, the narration of the characters was superb. Yes, I knew Wyatt was a grumpy mountain man, but Teddy Hamilton brought out the grumpy. He portrayed the character with the right tone in every sentence. When Wyatt was frustrated, you heard it. When Wyatt was emotional, you heard it. Some of these scenes may not have been comfortable to read (I'd love to hear the out-takes, LOL), but the narration flowed seamlessly with not a guffaw or glitch in the voice to be heard.
Erin Mallon was equally as good. She brought out all the emotions from the characters. She portrayed all the females with a different tone or speaking quality making it easy to identify the speaking characters in each scene, even when there were multiple females chatting. The duet narration style is my favorite. No listening to a man try to lower his voice to be the woman. The quality of the narration when going back and forth was seamless. Any breaks in the dictation were subtle and did not diminish the listening experience.
