Publisher's Summary

Nix
“You are the savior of mankind” are the last words I ever expected to hear while nibbling on fries. The thing is, I’m not mankind saving material. I don’t even have magic (and just found out it exists). I’m the most boring, normal(ish) human ever.

Suddenly, I’m being tossed right into the middle of a fight that started years before I was even born, and then I get partnered up with Alastair, a quirky magical Guardian. He is rather attractive and sweet when he’s not into the whole “woe is me, I can’t let myself fall in love with you” nonsense. I mean, the moment he took my annoyingly judgmental grandma hostage, it was all over for me. I was hooked.

Now the only problem is...what exactly are we saving the world from?

Alastair
The moment I laid eyes on Nix, the naive yet easygoing human captivated my attention, and now I’m determined to protect him. But despite my amazing and majestic abilities, we might not make it out of this mess. Still, there must be a reason Nix was chosen. No, he doesn’t have pizazz and maybe he really doesn’t have magic, but he’s also one of the strongest and kindest men I’ve ever met.

Now if I can just get him to stop throwing blankets at enemies, we might have a shot at this.

Nixing the End of the World contains a flaming "horse" with antlers who inexplicably appears when needed (or not), an interfering BFF who didn’t really mean to light the trunk on fire, a six-toed cat that looks like he put a claw in a socket, and an incubus who just wants a smoothie without anyone losing their clothes.

Started off great

I had started reading this on Kindle unlimited and got bored halfway through. Months later, I bought the audiobook thinking maybe that would help. This book started off hilariously funny with an interesting plot. About midway through the plot started rambling. There was a lot of inner monologue from the 2 MC that dragged down the pace of the story. I’m assuming there will be a sequel as this ended with a happy ending with a teaser. We also never did find out what some of the characters true natures are. Hopefully the next book will have the same great humor but flow better. The Narrator was fantastic.

Strong start, weak finish

This book started strong. Witty, interesting plot, likeable characters. Then they all got lost and forgot who they were and what they were doing a few chapters in and never really figured it out for the rest of the story. Narration was phenomenal, and there were some legit laugh out loud moments in the beginning, but I don't think I'll listen to the next book in the story after the disintegration of this one

It was pleasant

It wasn't a laugh-out-loud book, probably because the main characters seemed a little whiny. You spend a lot of time going to different locations and there wasn't much worldbuilding. You had enough backstory to get by but there are still many questions. The MC seemed to become a couple by default and for me, lacked chemistry. Nix was Alastair's shiny new toy that just went with the flow. Michael Feraiuolo was supurb.

4 Chapters In…

…and I couldn’t continue. While the humor was amusing, it came off too ridiculous for me to continue to enjoy.

Great narration, so fun!

I listened to the audio and Michael is really what kept this story moving along - his voices and energy he brings to Alice's books are just top notch excellence.

This had it's funny moments, and Alice writes group character interactions so well. I felt like the middle dragged a bit - just too much unnecessary stuff for me haha.

If you're looking for a sweet slow romance mixed in with some action, some ridiculousness, and shenanigans, then I suggest try this. I also recommend her other paranormal series, Happy Endings and Whisford Shifters so so much.

Not Engaging

I didn't feel very invested in the characters or engaged by the story. the narrator was very good as usual.

Fun characters!!!

This was a fun book. I laughed out loud many times! Alice Winters can write some interesting characters. I really enjoyed them all and can’t wait to see what they get up to in the next book. M.F. Does a great job with all the characters.

Fantastic

This was such a fun book! I really enjoyed the growing relationship between Nix and Alastair. There was plenty of humor and adventure in this book. There’s a lot left that I want to know about this world Alice has created. I’m looking forward to the next book!!
Michael Ferraiuolo did a spectacular job narrating this story! I loved his voices for Nix and Alastair!!

Terrible(Refund Please)

This was one of the worst written books ever and I mean that respectfully. All over the place, terrible characters, dumb founded moment after moment. The ones who are suppose to protect the human is stupid in a nice way, their all clueless and nothing makes since. Total waste of time!!!
