À propos de cet audio
You are not alone in building a child's brain. If you're having trouble convincing your kids to talk more politely or to disagree less... If you are unable to figure out how to prevent your child from reaching the top bunk or convince him to change before opening the front door, If you're annoyed that you have to say the same thing over and over again, such as "Hurry! You're going to be late for school!" or if you have to have another argument over screen time, schoolwork, or sleep, You are not alone if you have encountered any of these annoyances.
You're common, in actuality. You are aware of who you are. a guardian. A parent and a human being. Determining how to punish our children is a difficult task. It is what it is. This is how it happens much too frequently: They do something wrong. We get furious. They get agitated. Tears flow. (Sometimes, the children cry.)
It wears you out. It enrages me. The whole ordeal—the screaming, the injured sentiments, the guilt, the heartbreak, and the alienation. Do you ever find yourself wondering, "Can't I do better than this?" after a particularly trying conversation with your children? Can't I be a more effective parent and better manage myself? Is it not possible for me to exercise discipline in a manner that reduces chaos rather than fuels it? While you want the inappropriate conduct to cease, you also want to react in a manner that strengthens and appreciates your bond with your kids.
Not destroy, but strengthen your connection is what you desire. Less drama is what you want to produce, not more. Indeed, you can. That's the key takeaway from this book: you can punish in a manner that's both kind and caring while maintaining firm limits. Put another way, you're capable of more. It is possible to discipline your children in a way that prioritizes relationships, and respect and minimizes drama and conflict.

In addition to happening in romantic and professional relationships, gaslighting is sometimes used by public leaders to sway the opinions of certain demographic groups. One kind of psychological abuse is gaslighting. It may cause you to begin questioning your capacity for accurate reality perception. It may lead you to believe that you did not see or hear what you believed you did, and you may begin to question the integrity of the information your five senses are providing you with. Furthermore, this will lead you to question your sanity.

When I first started practicing, I saw that individuals with strong communication skills in casual settings might become quite different when interacting with spouses or relatives. People behaved somewhat differently when they were angry than when they were at ease. Emotionally reactive people are unable to use communication skills. Emotional reactivity (ER) impairs a person's ability to reason and behave sensibly. This is especially true when someone is dealing with someone they love and you both have a history of emotional sensitivity.

The problem with challenging individuals is that they often defy reason. Regretfully, a number of them are oblivious to the harm their demeanor does to others in their vicinity. Some seek to create turmoil and push people's buttons to see how far they can go even when they are aware of the negative effects their activities generate.

At its core, gaslighting is a deliberate and repeated attempt to distort the truth in an effort to erode the victim's confidence in their own judgment. Examples of manipulation that may be used to support the gaslighter's tale include trivializing sentiments, rejecting facts, or changing facts to support the deception. It is common for victims to feel confused, anxious, and the desire to justify their interactions with the manipulator. Gaslighting is particularly harmful since it erodes victims' self-esteem and disconnects them from alternative support systems.

Throughout the last three decades, scientists have learned that the brain can be changed and can adjust to various circumstances. The brain continues to develop well into adulthood, they have shown. In fact, the areas of the brain that are used the most may get larger. Additionally, the brain may split and form new pathways for communication. If you feel that your memory or brain is failing, don't panic; there are several ways to boost these areas. Memory is essentially the capacity to recall information that you have already encountered or learned.
