Story
Seventeen-year-old cynic Saoirse Clarke isn't looking for a relationship. But when she meets mischievous Ruby, that rule goes right out the window. Sort of. Because Ruby has a loophole in mind: a summer of all the best cliché movie montage dates, with a definite ending come fall - no broken hearts, no messy breakup. It would be the perfect plan, if they weren’t forgetting one thing about the Falling in Love Montage: when it's over, the characters have fallen in love...for real.

Cute queer love story we all needed

Written by: Rachael Lippincott, and others
Publisher's Summary
Perfect for fans of Becky Albertalli and Nina LaCour, this queer coming-of-age story from the author of The Falling in Love Montage is wry, multilayered, and unflinchingly honest.
Aideen has plenty of problems she can’t solve. But when she stumbles upon overachiever Meabh Kowalska having a full-blown meltdown, she sees one that she can actually fix. Meabh is desperate to escape her crushing pile of extracurriculars. Aideen volunteers to help - by pushing her down the stairs.
Problem? Solved. Meabh’s sprained ankle is the perfect excuse to ditch her overwhelming schedule. But when one of their classmates learns about their little scheme, more “clients” start asking for Aideen’s “help” - kicking off a semester of traded favors, ill-advised hijinks, and even an unexpected chance at love.
Fixing other people’s problems won’t fix her own. But it might be the push Aideen needs to start.

Wish it was longer!
I loved both of the main characters! Aideen is hilarious, and Meabh's earnestness is quite cute. I wish it was longer or there was a sequel to explore some of the events that happen at the end of the story, but overall I really enjoyed it!

Fantastic book
It's rare to find a YA book that hits all the notes, but this one did. Every situation and every character seemed genuine, like people you would find in a school near you. And like all YA books, there were melancholy chapters and funny chapters. But this book actually made me laugh out loud more than once. Good grief, parts of the book were truly funny. In the end, I think this is the best YA book I've read in 2021.

It was a really awesome book! Again I’d do disclaimers in the beginning but other than that I loved it. It wasn’t just about YA romance. It had friendships, family issues, comedic relief and a lot heart. Seriously grab this book.
