I'm a big fan of Holly Jackson, especially her standalone "Five Survive," but her last book, "The Reappearance of Rachel Price," was not the best and I was a bit worried that after the success of the Good Girl series she may have lost it a bit, but I was wrong. This book is everything Holly Jackson excels at, from her dark, poetic, and humorous writing to her clever plots and strong characters (although the ending was a little obvious, but not in a distracting way). It's also perfectly narrated-I highly recommend!!!

Okay, I’ll admit, I’m only 35% done this audiobook… but it’s a struggle to finish due to the narrator and honestly the amount of “f bombs” and that’s coming from someone with the mouth of a trucker! I find that combined with the narrator is really dragging the rating down. We get it, she forgets words, we don’t need the repetitive “f**k what’s that f**king word again?!” EVERY time. I don’t know, I can’t tell where the story is heading yet but I might edit this if I ever finish… I think this is one I should have read instead of listen to. I really dislike the narrators tone and “yelling” voice. ugh.

edit*** okay i’ve finished! changed my ratings. the story definitely got better and less repetitive. i did kind of predict a lot of things but i liked how it all came together. overall, i enjoyed it. tears were shed. i knew i shouldn’t get attached to someone who we knew was going to die from the start. i hoped the whole time that the doctors were wrong.

narrator ruins the story slightly

The story itself was interesting, though I did find the whole fire scene and the fact that they walked out of their with no smoke inhalation injury and minor external injury after so much drama unrealistic.

My main problem was the narrator. Her general speaking was fine, but every characters “voice”
was grating and especially so many scenes with yelling. Almost didn’t finish because of it.

Unique story excellent performances loved the twists and turns kinda sad ending but appropriate kept me intrigued from beginning to end

The narration was so bad that I’m not sure if I liked the book or not! I like the concept but she made me hate all the characters. It was like they were all 12 years old and had The Simpson’s voices.
