Publisher's Summary

Gemma Summers is unlucky in love. She's known it since third grade, when her first crush blew a spitball into her hair, and a decade-long string of bad dates, boring sex, and abysmal morning afters has done nothing to improve her prospects. But when a random radio call-in contest lands her courtside tickets to the hottest playoff game of the season, Gemma's luck may finally be on the upswing, even if it doesn't exactly seem like it when the dreaded Jumbotron kiss cam lands on her and her date, who's too busy ignoring her to notice.

Chase Croft doesn't date. Despite ample opportunity as Boston's most eligible bachelor, the reformed bad boy would rather put his energy into taking over the family business than weed through a world of gold diggers to find an honest woman. But when the beautiful girl in the seat next to him becomes a courtside spectacle at the hands of her loser boyfriend, he can't help but step in and save the day.

Good dynamics, strong characters

Not the biggest fan of the narration. While it seems kind of wooden at first, it gets better and more natural as the book progresses.

I'm surprised the story has such a low rating, though. Yes, Chase is rather forward in a few situations but he has good reasons and would never force Gemma into anything about which she was adamant, unless her own decisions put her in serious danger. Unlike another review implied, he is quite respectful in a protective way. The dynamics of the main characters seem very reasonable to me.

If the following books are better than this one (if the reviews are anything to go by) it seems I've found a wonderful series!

I liked the story!

Didn’t really like the narrator, especially at the beginning she sounded aggressive and unpleasant. But then it got a bit better.
The story is very good! I laughed and sometimes my heart went fast, it was good! Finished it in 2 days!
P.S. Was weird to hear when all the man especially the security guy would call girls “babe” but maybe it’s a thing wherever they are.

all of it!! bravo, the writing was on point, emotions captured perfectly q.

when she describes the characters the setting the emotions running in so many directions, but she pulled it all together tight and seamless for the story to unfold and have us the audience fighting to stay awake to hear 1 more chapter. I felt like I knew what chases aprt looked like along with each critical detail. I will be moving.on to the next book cheers ladies great Job.

A toxic romance

Very fictional love story of two toxic people that fall in love instantly and try to work through their faults. Worth the listen but some parts had me rolling my eyes.

Cute as a standalone. Rest of series is meh.

This was a cute audiobook. Narration is great. I was put off with how domineering the MMC is & how ditsy the FMC acts, it’s a romcom, so some level of flightiness is expected.

REST OF SERIES: I did not enjoy the other books in the series (books 2 & 3 has poor narration, book 4 drones on with unending backstories & inner dialogue, didn’t bother with the others)

Kiss-Cam Awesomness

Gemma is strong willed but sweet, and Chase is the hero she deserves. Cue a rich boy with a heart of gold and protector tendencies. Their love story is one that includes tons of giggles and fun, but with a bit of complications and mystery to keep it from being too sweet.

Slow

Book is slow but the last half an hour is pretty good. Don't love the relationship between The main characters

Terrible dialogue

Hands down the worst story I've listened to in a while. The dialogue between the main characters is awkward and borderline idiotic, that it makes it impossible to believe they're meant to be together. Nothing wrong with the performance, the stroy is just terrible.
