I'm a fan, but not of this book

I really wanted to like this book. I'm a big fan of James Smith as he provides honest, no-BS advice, and does a great job of pulling back the curtain on the shady fitness industry. With this book, however, I'm not left with a great 'life changing' feeling.

He goes on about how he hates the 'fitness gurus' who provide zero help while pushing their expensive programs. In this book, he at least provides some decent education, while pushing his expensive program. It seemed like each chapter would touch on interesting topics only to end with "If you want to learn more about this, visit my website". I was very disappointed when visiting his website to learn it's only for his paying subscribers. I understand he has to make a living, but a couple free resources for an audiobook isn't a crazy ask (especially when he suggests visiting his site to learn how to properly do a few exercise moves).

I'll be returning this book as I don't feel there is anything worth revisiting here.

I love how blunt and straightforward this book is. I follow him on Instgram and love the content. I’ve probably listened to this book 4 times already.

Easy listening with good information

This was laid out well. It was made to be understood by anyone regardless of their prior knowledge. The information was thorough and the accent made for enjoyable listening. Way to go James Smith ! I can’t wait to read / hear your other work. I do follow you on social media for fitness and wellness Information and entertainment. This is where I discovered your great personality and knowledge and ultimately your books.

Amazing !

I really liked this audiobook it was a real eye-opener to things I thought I knew, But it just re-confirmed everything and now I feel confident! One of my favourite parts of the book was when he was talking about “women” and training. It wasn’t something I actually thought about until now.

Yes. It’s a MUST read...

I discovered James Smith a couple of years ago on Instagram and it’s not an overstatement to say my life has changed dramatically as a result of it.

His book is a no nonsense, fact based education in both physical & mental well-being. Just read it or listen...you will not be disappointed.

Correct

It was not a dietbook. Seemed more a justification for leaving a relationship when you’re not on the same page as your significant other.
I did like the writer/narrators’ accent, but a few times I missed a word here and there. It is a book I won’t listen to again. For me it was more negative than positive. Cheers!
