Lacking original thoughts and ideas

It’s not that the book doesn’t have good advice, it’s just that the author takes a collection of ideas from other people and put it into one book. He does give them credit which is good. If you have experience with James Clear or Angela Duckworth and others like them, this will just be a repetition of their ideas. If you have no idea who those people are, then this book will be good for you.

Didn't find it beneficial at all

Probably best for listeners in their early 20s who don't read any self-development material.
This was just a choppy version of regurgitated ideas from other books and psychology. I was hoping it would be more fitness related which is his expertise.

Changed Everything

Full of self doubts and lifetime of regrets, I took a leap of faith and got this book. I’m glad I did. It gave me so much to think about and why I was endlessly unhappy. James Smith gave me a key to unlocking a door that I had not thought I could. He gives you the key, but you have to want the change. A must read.

Love this....

I’ve been a follower of James Smith for several years. From his Facebook Lives with Brian the bird in Bondi to a brief stint as a JSA member during the first Bali competition where I learned all I need to know to maintain and improve my fitness level. Now this, Not A Life Coach, at a time when pondering significant changes in my life, perfectly guiding my thoughts to what matter to ME, not anyone else. Thought provoking, encouraging, funny and from the heart. Thank you, James, for unknowingly being the person spouting the words I need to hear at just the right time in life. Congrats. Well done.

Entertaining for new readers!

I quickly realized that I’m not the target audience for this book, and that influenced my perception of the material. If you are young and have similar goals as the author, this could be a great find!

I’m 35 and read this genre frequently, and found it to be a synopsis of other material. The author had a great performance for fairly simple information. If you are looking for an easily digestible review of self improvement, and enjoy hearing personal stories, this might be the book for you!

If you read frequently, I’d recommend skipping this one.

Loved and learned so much I bought his 1st book

Learned so much in very basic terms that really got through to me. So much value in the information given. I have new priorities, new goals and ways to achieve them for real this time. Learned to value my time and put that into my business. Thank you

Self help book report.

The book listens/reads like a Personal Trainer who has read Carol Dwecks Mindset and a few other similar titles. Then mashed them together with an influencer "focus". Also theres a lot of humble brags followed up with Im not humble bragging.

Not A Disappointment

After reading the first book by James Smith, Not A Diet Book, I was immediately compelled to add this to my collection. It was finished within a couple days and I love what he has to say as far as making a life for oneself vs making a living. Thank you!

Grateful
